Fun game to go to, had a great section. Couple of guys in the beer line celebrated Lindor’s first homerun with me since I had bet Lindor to hit a homerun. Marte’s homerun was an absolute missile off the bat.
lugo hasn’t looked good for a while now but isn’t it a little too soon in the season to be booing people?
Good win today. Pete 14 RBIs, 11 as a DH this year. Tough 4 game stretch coming up vs SF this week, but we got our guys on the bump. Hopefully Tylor continues his hot streak
Mickey or Rojas would have never done anything like this. Rojas would probably be talking about a secret room and satellite weather radars to his bench coaches.
Keith pulls a Tony Romo, criticizing the first baseman being too far from the line seconds before McNeil puts one right there for a two-run double to make it 4-3.
Lindor ties it at 4, and then wins it in the bottom of the 10th. What a difference a year makes, at least to start it. Scherzer tries for the sweep of the double-header tonight.
Can someone explain to me why Kapler didn’t walk Jankowski to load the bases in the 9th and then go after Dom Smith? i thought we were doomed when we didn’t score in the bottom 9 love to see Lindor with the game winning hit. Gotta get this one now with Max Max on the mound. Hopefully no 30+ pitch innings
Scherzer with 7 innings of 1-hit, 1-run, 10 K, ball. Can the bullpen protect a two-run lead for two innings?
Needed that from Max. He was fine his first 2 starts but he was dominate as hell today. Love to see it
Smith with a little help from the wind and then May shuts them down in the 9th 1-2-3, and the Mets are 9-3.
Huge test today vs a top contender and we won both. Lindor was terrific today. Get one more of the next 2 and off to Arizona to get another 2 of 3
Not going to sweep one of the best teams in baseball in a 4 game series. The team needs one of McCann or Nido to hit like .220 and not be a fucking black hole in the bottom of the lineup. Dom looks like he's picking up his bat a little bit -- 2 hits in Tuesday night's game and hit a frozen rope in the bottom of the 8th last night. JD Davis is abysmal, the dude can't hit a fastball to save his life.
This is the Lindor they were willing to pay $34 million per year to, and another strong performance from a starting pitcher. This start is about as good as you could have wanted for the team, particularly with Jake out.
