Josh Allen’s tape was awful though dude. Even if the weather and wind at Wyoming were a massive factor. Allen has succeeded because he’s developed his raw tools, not because he showed he could be a good QB on film in college.

I completely disagree he showed a huge upside with his plays outside the pocket and arm strength. Saying his tape was awful is laughable actually. His receivers let their conference in drops because of his big arm. He needed better players around him to succeed is how I came away with his tape.

What does that have to do with what I said?

You said “Wilson got it right” while criticizing Darnold. Wilson got nothing right last year. He was dreadful. And it’s hard to understand how you can criticize Darnold in the same post you say something justifying Wilson getting anything right when Darnold was ahead at the same points in their career.

I said Wilson made the correct reads most of the time. I said Darnold in year 4 was not making the correct reads. Wilson was a rookie Darnold year 4.

Wilson had his struggles but was reading defenses better in year 1 than Darnold in year 4.

I find it Ironic that most of the analyst are still high on Zach and his biggest critics are Jet fans.

Most analysts, if not all of them, have Zach as a bottom-tier QB:

And I'm not cherry picking; I couldn't find a single one that had him higher than 25.

Lol I made my handle 10 years ago when Rex was the Jets coach, which was a time when jets fans egos were through the roof. I guess I could change it now, but it’s been so long, I couldn’t imagine going by another name on this board, lol. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years already though. I do enjoy this place, and you guys.

Thinking he is going to get better and ranking him are two very different things. Until he does it you can't rank any higher. That does not mean they do not think he will take the next step.

For the love of God are you Jets fan or not?

Like I said Jet fans are the only ones that think he is a bust already.

I'm a happy clapper but have to admit I am a little worried about Wilson and Becton tbh.

I think giving Sam the benefit of the doubt for three years hasn't helped, I didn't want him and it has to be said I wasn't impressed with Wilson but what are you going to do when the Jets pick him, you support him until it is obvious, like Sam, that he is actually shit but inside you worry a little bit about it.

Last time, I was put off Allen by the naysayers of running QB's and ended up plumping for Mayfield over, Sam or Rosen, in the end, it was a stacked deck of shitness and I worry this time around it is going to be similar.

When you get Davis Mills (who I liked but not brave enough to nail a flag to the mast for) outperforming nearly all the other drafted QB's, a round 3 pick, it just adds the thought of what we could have done with the #2 in a trade down (yes, the ultimate in hindsight picking)

I didn't like Mac Jones either, he has been the best of them but I still think it is because of the system he has been given rather than he is that talented but then again playing to your QB's strength is a thing, something our OC failed to do for a good while.

I am hoping Wilson steps up because this is the only thing that will give us some success, if he doesn't then it is like pulling the entire bottom row out of a playing card house.

Don’t fret. Wilson improved last year and this year he’ll have an improved OL and will be getting a top weapon when we draft Kenneth Walker III in the 2nd rd.

They rolled the dice on a converted LB that played "hero ball"..... That last month of his rookie season I thought he may become our Drew Brees. It didnt work.... but he seems like a solid young dude. I wish him luck

Here is a decent take on Zach. The kid has talent made some really bad plays last season. He also showed the special talent

Herbert and Burrow gave us unrealistic expectations for a rookie QB. It takes a while in this league.

Okay, you're right. Wilson is a colossal bust, and we now have absolutely no hope of seeing a winning season for the foreseeable future. There, does that make you feel better at least?

Do you not see the difference between ranking someone based off their prior season and projecting what they might be in the future? The post you responded to was about the latter but everything you posted is about the former.

I see Jets fandom and support of the team is still being questioned if you say anything negative about Zach Wilson a year and a half later.

Well why are some still questioning the pick a year and half later when it's clear that JD and CS are committed to him? What purpose does that serve?

Uh what? Because he performed like one of the worst QB’s in the league last year and we’re fans posting and debating things on a message board?

I don’t know why blind support is required these days and realistic opinions about his performance and future prospects results in personal animosity.

Unfair critisism like a fan of another team is what makes us question. Your assessment with zero context is very flawed and you know it. Your expectation from a rookie are unrealistic.

I find it amusing when you break down the game film you can see why people are excited by Zach and why the numbers do not tell the entire story. It is lazy to just throw out final stats.

Zach was better than Fields and Trevor last season and out played Jones down the stretch. None of that really matters though only in that he played like a rookie. Noni's questioning he needs to get better. I will also argue he played better than Darnold as well, especially down the stretch

Sam really got the shit coming Into the NFL. Neither team has done him well whatsoever, PLUS shit coaching, yet he still remains positive. Ill root for Sam, any day...unless its vs NYJ.
