This guy basically just regurgitates other reputable tweets but saw this and thought it was interesting. Guys a straight workhorse and looks ripped. If we get KT and a NT from the draft or FA that Dline is going to wreak havok.
5 years in the NFL - averages 10 games a season and only 2 full seasons. The guy belongs in the Minuteman montage, probably the one with the bandage around his head.
Some of these guys are just too muscular and defined for their own good. Their body has no bend in it and their ligaments can’t support the amount of muscle mass surrounding them. Lawson is a good example of this. Most Jets fans assured us he was the next LT just waiting to be unlocked though.
Well, let’s just wait and see how he fairs in camp and the season this year. I wish him nothing but extreme success and healthy full season. He trains harder than anyone and plays harder than anyone. He deserves to succeed. Hope the football Goals are on his side.
If he plays one injury free season, we will have a highly functioning defense for once even without another passrusher like KT. I hope he can stay healthy all season. We need a guy like him badly.
Is that really true though? I know the jets have been begging for an edge rusher for like 10 years, so when they sign one, it’s easy to feel satisfied, but this guy when healthy was not even that good to begin with. If the jets draft an edge rusher in the first round, that guy will immediately be better than Lawson imo.
training harder is great and to be applauded. I just hope he's training smarter too. He needs to make sure he's training all the little shit stabilizer muscles and core and posterior chain, not just the glamour muscles. Also mobility we really need to focus o injury prevention. It all goes back to "value" and that in a capped league you want value -- performance/dollar the cap just asks what you paid the guy for the year. Not whether you got what you paid for. You don't get any credits for when the guy misses a game or only plays part of it or half strength. SO you really want the most games you can get for the salary you pay IN a capped league you want Toyotas, not necessarily Ferraris (I'm assuming when i make this comment that Ferraris are less reliable, but i don't know if that's true)
He’s incredibly overrated, it’s why the Bengals let him go. Their defense actually improved when they signed Hendrickson. Lawson is who he is at this point, Joe needs to draft a pass rusher at 4 or 10 or maybe both and not worry about Lawson. If he’s healthy and they can squeeze some more hurries from him it’s a plus but I wouldn’t go into season counting on this guy as primary means of pass rush specialist, he’s a hurry specialist that gets injured a lot.
I'm glad you mentioned ligaments because I've been thinking--this may be a little controversial--why not take cadaver ligaments and reinforce joints? I imagine the med tech is there for such a thing.
This was the single most disappointing thing about the last TC, he looked like he was ready to go before that injury.
NFL teams need to get these guys into an offseason yoga program... "power yoga" not the namaste bullshit
