9 o-line is more then enough and we'll probably have one on the PS as well. maybe an UDFA. remember 8 players are inactive every game day. we'll only have 8 lineman active on game days. maybe even 7. I have hardee on the roster, i listed him on special teams but yes he'd technically be the 6th CB. This roster was done based off a mock draft. ellis is a draft pick of mine so wouldn't be gone. I think you missed the part about this being after my mock draft. kyle hamilton sure wouldn't be cut either lol. didn't you notice the "R" next to their names for rookie?

i'm not sure how you can say we won't draft 2 DTs for sure. mac and slaeh has made it very clear d-line is a big priority for them and we haven't replaced foley. 1 is a given, 2 is possible as well. th9omas doens't fit the position next to Q. he would be a guy to spell Q. thomas and shepard have like no guarentees in money and both could be replaced easily. JFM can swing inside on passing downs yes or on those downs thomas can play alongside Q.

as far as the PS goes we tend to overrate our players. other teams have players they like and PS has to be given an active roster spot if signed off another team. everyone said yeboah would be stolen last year yet he wasn't. every team has players they think will be stolen but they aren't. dunn was awful last year, pinnock was awful at CB but showed some potential at safety late in the year. neither will be stolen.

I did upgrade depth on o-line as well but you think we won't draft him so not sure how that makes sense with jurgens

as far as 3 TEs go we also could drop bawden and run 4 TEs with yeboah active and place bawden on the PS and use wesco at FB when needed

thats still an awful value for us. no reason for us to take sauce. it doesn't fit into our philosphy, isn't a JD/saleh type of move, and isn't super important to our system and we'll waste his talent. and lose out on filling a bigger need

Lol. Only have 7 active OL on game day? Where do you come up with this stuff?

it'll be 7 or 8. thats why you have versatile backups. edoga and feeny covers all 5 positions. we could lose 2 lineman and be ok still. if you lose your probably boned anyway

No NFL team will suit up only 7 OL on game day. That’s a fact. Any coach who leaves a free body aka OL #8 off the field should be questioned.

during this i remembered only 5 are inactive now so we can have 8 lineman for offense and 1 inactive, 8 lineman for defense and 2 inactive. 3rd string QB is inactive (emergency), and then 1 other player depending on the gameplan and/or injury
I do think your being overly picky with this one thing though so I guess you can't disagree with anything else so i'll take that as a positive :)

I’m just pointing out that it’s a 47 man active game roster unless you have 8 OL in which case it becomes 48.

I certainly disagree with a lot more but everything else is opinion, strategy and prediction. This was a basic NFL rules and roster comment.

We drafted defense every year and never stopped any team from scoring. How bout we try something different.

Yeah 7 lineman was very common for a long time but I seen when they changed it to 17 games and 14 playoff teams they also reduced the inactives and require 8 lineman now. which I mean i have 9 on the roster and we could add another UDFA or cheap vet that shakes loose so I don't see the issue personally

different GM. different teams. we've drafted all offense since JD has been in with our premium picks

wilson, AVT becton, mims, moore were all the JD premium picks.
we'll still draft a WR in our top 4 picks as well
right now the offense is way ahead of the defense talent wise. the bets thing we can do for the offense and zach is to not have him play from behind every drive. give him a D that can create turnovers and have him take the ball in a good spot so he can just run the offense and not have the D pinning their ears back and going all in on him knowing we have to throw the ball

also FWIW drafting those heavy defensive drafts led us to the back to back AFC champ games

I agree with you not a huge fan of trading down. If you are getting the top talent at your spot you have to take him. But I disagree that Thibs should not be our pick. Getting bad vibes about him and he might be dropping some. I would rather have Jermaine Johnson or Travon Walker both are moving up the board. Both play against better talent in their conference. Just think they would be safer picks. But we've all seen this scenario this guy turns into a Hall of Famer and the others are bust. Hope Douglas follows the guidelines that Ozzie Newsome taught him. That was to find players that like to play football.

Huh you talking Rex Ryan era? That was long, long time ago. I'm talking about the drafts before Douglas came onboard. The Jets haven't sniffed a playoff game since 2010. That team had balance unlike Bowles, Gase crap. Drafted Sanchez, sign Braylon Edward, drafted Keller even had a stud return specialist Brad Smith

and so far JD has dumped everything into offense for 2 years straight. so don't you think balance would suggest heavy on defense?

With all the negative press and rumours that KT is off JDs draft board is seems more likely a trade could happen for 4th overall.

5 teams need a QB Carolina, Atlanta, Seattle, Saints and Pitt. Maybe one of them take a shot at Baker maybe one takes a shot on Jimmy. That still leaves 3 teams looking to draft a QB in the first potentially.

The crazy thing is there is 3 teams that have a starter but it wouldn’t surprise me if they drafted a QB Detroit, Washington and Tennessee.

JD knows how to max value out on trades. He’s going to start with what SF got for #3 last year.

Balance would suggest Joe Douglas learn to walk and chew gum at the same time. You can find gems all through the draft and you see teams like the Ravens and Pittsburgh do it year in and year out. That is what needs to happen with the Jets, then they can get to the point where they just draft the best talent on their board

I believe Sauce is exactly a Saleh player. Remember he had Richard Sherman on his defense in San Fran. but I'm with you on I don't think they will draft him. Be kinda silly after they signed a corner and you have Hall on the other side.

I agree that 9 OL is enough. You had said that you kept 10 OL and I was merely pointing out that you only had 9 listed. I saw Hardee listed down under STs, but that made no sense. No one lists rosters that way.

I know you said that the roster was based on a mock draft you did, but I was saying that I don't think the Jets make any of those picks that you had them taking.

I don't think the Jets will draft two DTs because they have too many other needs, and I think they will take one in the 2nd round (Travis Jones or Devonte Wyatt). They have 9 picks and will most likely take an Edge, a WR, a DT, a S, a LB, a RB, a TE, OL depth, and a 2nd WR. The numbers just don't work out for them to take a 2nd DT. They can add that in FA or the draft next year. They make take two backup OL.More than likely that rookie will start beside Q, and JFM or Rankins or Thomas would come in on passing downs. Supposedly Thomas is up to 295. He would be a better vs the run than Rankins. If Thomas is more of a 3T DT I don't understand why the Jets signed him. They already have Marshall, JFM and Rankins who are more 3-T DTs than they are run-stuffing DTs. IMO it makes no sense to add another DT of that type and not cut Rankins, and still not have one run-stuffing type DT, and no one to start beside Q.

IMO based on what I've read about him, Jurgens isn't a good prospect. He has little or no potential to start. If they're looking to draft a C, I think it will be one of Dylan Parham or Cole Strange.

I will be surprised if they keep Wesco. I truly believe that they will draft a TE in the 4th or 5th round. It will be Jelani Woods or Cade Otton, unless Ruckert, or maybe Dulcich is there.

he had him later in his career when he was 30 and not the same shutdown CB he was anymore.
I like sauce, he's a great college player with potential to be a great NFL player but he just doesn't make sense for us

what gems have pitt found lately? they are a team kinda falling apart. their offense was bad last year and only got worse with ben retiring and no replacement. all they best players are early picks and they have whiffed on every CB they've taken. They have done great at picking WRs and Rushers but thats about it. thats why they traded a 1st for fitzpatrick and traded up to get bush
