I thought 21 Bridges was a good action/crime movie. Not ground breaking, but an enjoyable movie.

Both were dark films... Its been a bit but from what I remember, they both had plenty of suspense and drama so in that respect, they did have similarities. I think Seven was about the hunt for a serial killer. Batman was also a hunt for a serial killer too. I won't go into more detail but again, these kinds of movies are right up your alley so when you can, stream "Seven" and draw your own conclusions.

Well Sanchez had a great career despite the knuckle-dragging problem.

I recommend everyone to watch Seven if you like quality detective/thriller films. So so good

Se7en was incredible! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Spacey were amazing. It holds up really well too. I did not realize it came out in 1995. It feels as fresh as any film in 2022. And that ending? Wow! Great stuff.
You were right! Definitely was up my alley! Loved it.

I definitely see the similarities of the two films too, but they are also very different. Similarities include 2 people on a detective story (Batman and Gordon in The Batman/Mills and Somerset in Seven), going after a serial killer who keeps leaving clues and killing people (Riddler/John Doe).
Both villains turn themselves in on purpose too.
It also rains a lot in both. They are both set in terrible cities where crime and corruption are everywhere. I could definitely see the influences.

I am glad The Batman led me to Seven though, because it was great and I had never seen it until yesterday. :)

Been watching "Seven" all morning on SciFi channel. I was surprised how many stars were in this.

Yeah! Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Gwyneth Paltrow and a bunch of wonderful supporting actors too.

David Fincher did a wonderful job directing. He then went on to direct Fight Club, Panic Room, Zodiac, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network, etc. So this movie was a big jumping off moment for many careers too.

If you want to dive into some older, classic movies then Turner Classic Movie channel is showing Academy Award winning movies this month. AND ... who doesn't like Ben Mankiewicz?

Watched 2 new movies on Netflix

Black Crab - real cool concept, but executed very poorly. They do zero world building and don't even name the enemy, they literally just say "the enemy." Not sure why I'm supposed to care about anything that's going on.

Windfall - meh. It kept me watching, but I was sort of just waiting for it to end. I can't think of a more average movie that I've seen in a while. The ending was not shocking either.

Morbius was bad. Save your money. I like vampire movies. I like comic book movies. I like Jared Leto. Somehow, this did not work at all. :D

It's actually worse than bad: it's nothing. Nothing really happens. Lifeless movie. It could have been good, but the writers/director messed it up. Skip it!

I read a couple of reviews sounds horrible. As in not bad enough to be great.

Who was this movie for? He’s not a mainstream comic character that anyone knows of; it doesn’t look like a comic book movie with a character that is interesting even if unknown; it seems to be relying on having some connection to Spider-Man but only people into comics would know that. Conceptually it just seems like a disaster.

That is exactly right! Not bad enough to be fun or entertaining. It's just nothing.
I actually do like Morbius as a Spider-Man villain, which is why I was mildly interested. They don't use any connections in the movie, which makes it even worse, somehow. Then they throw some stuff together in the post credits scenes to try to connect it, and it was flat out embarrassing and terrible. I don't really like the 2 Venom movies Sony made either, but they were kinda fun at least. Morbius is joyless. To answer your question: the movie is for no one. That is why I posted about it. I wanted to save people from the terrible mistake I made! :)

The movie is as bad as the marketing then. Audiences may not have known who the Guardians of the Galaxy were, but the trailers presented a fun adventure with interesting characters. Morbius shows nothing interesting to the audience about the character or what adventure he will go on.

Jared Leto just isn't a very good actor. I recently watched Blade Runner 2049. And for a three hour movie he has about 15 minutes of screen time and it was enough.

Very good movie by the way. Three hours and it didn't overstay it's welcome.

His one good role was (I think it was called) Midnight Cowboy

Se7en is truly a great movie... Davis Fincher is an absolute artist. Intense is an understatement.

My then wife worked on the movie and I got to visit some of the sets.

Watching it is bittersweet... it hastened the end of my marriage.

True, I actually totally forgot he was in that it's been like 15 years since I've seen it
