No, the Jets will carry 4 TEs, 6 WRs, and 3-4 RBs. After the problems they had with injuries last season, if they try to go into this one with only 5 WRs, they're morons.

Some tidbits from Connor Hughes podcast yesterdy was he seemed very certain the Jets were going edge at 4, they have no concerns with Thibs character and will draft him if he is there, they won't be drafting a cb in round one, he seemed pretty sure the Jets would go WR absent a trade, expect a DT in round 2, the focus is on building a dominant DL, and he thinks the Jets will be drafting a backup tackle for becton insurance.

the only team that ran 12 personnel more than 30% of the time was the dolphins and that is only because giseki is a TE in name only

Thats along what I’m thinking - EDGE OT WR and DT are gonna be the focus early

Barring a trade for a veteran WR happening before the draft, I'm predicting that's what the first 4 picks will be, not necessarily in that order, but it will be those 4 positions.

Edge - KT, JJ, Arnold Ebiketie

WR - Garret Wilson, Christian Watson, George Pickens, Treylon Burks

OT - Bernhard Raimann, Trevor Penning, Tyler Smith, Nicholas Petit-Frere, Abraham Lucas

DT - Travis Jones, Phidarian Mathis or Devonte Wyatt

Totally agree, we have been bit by the injury bug too much. Can't take risks.

I agree with this except DT I'm not sure if they will go that route.

DT has been popping up more and more. Why do you think we need DT in our first four?

Worst run D in the league, and we let our best run defender walk.
Also doesn't look like JD will re-sign Phillips either, and I assume he won't re-sign Q next year (it's his pattern with players here before him, and it's stupid).

I'd much rather not draft DT early, but JD has created a massive hole which now needs to be addressed in some way.

I hope we keep Q. Thanks for the info. I hope we stay away from Dt until the third round.

I am a big believer that high first round picks should be instant contributors and to some extent targeted for the potential to become major game changers in the future. Be it Edge, CB, Safety, OL or WR. I would expect a WR selected at either 4 or 10 to be in the starting rotation from day one, understanding that the learning curve, developing proper timing and chemistry with the QB will take more time to develop than other positions for sure.

Truly hope we don't go Thibs and WR, as Hughes is speculating.

Picking someone at 4, they gotta be clean blue chips. I don't like that risk.
And in a deep WR draft, we can find WR's' later.
This would not be the best use of extremely valuable draft capital imo.

I'd really like to see the Rangers trade the #4 down a bit. We could use the extra picks to fill some of the holes still on the roster.

The other thing is that this is a deep draft for WT and OT and the Jets could come out of the 1st round with one of each even if they trade down and add a pick.

What clean blue chip do you want at #4 then? It seems to me it's a deep draft but perhaps lacking in true top end quality and the choice is going to come down to need vs positional value.

What Hughes said is the Jets are not concerned about Thibs character and that they really like him. I agree with you about a clean blue chip prospect. But Hughes also made it clear it would be edge at 4 not OL and not cb. If Thibs is not the pick I don't see another edge without big question marks to take at 4. They would have to trade back in that scenario which is easier said than done.

Agreed, it's gotta be thibs at 4 or a trade down makes more sense. Edge we to pick early or not at all

Beating Jax might have been a very costly win.

Do you not like Olave at all then?

I quite like the look of Doubs later on as well.

Yes, I do like Olave. For some reason, I always forget about him. He could be one of that group of WRs that the Jets are considering. I like Doubs as well. The problem with him is that imo he will go in the 2nd or 3rd round, and even though I think they should take a 2nd WR, it probably won't be until the 4th round. If he's there in the 4th, by all means he should be under consideration.
