Physical play! Let's face it, the Jets aren't going to get past the Patsies on talent. We aren't going to outsmart them, either. The only way that the Jets can beat these clowns is to punch them square in the face. Hit hard, and hit often! I'm also tired of hearing about how the poor field was responsible for the Pats losing in Nov. Last I checked, the Jets were playing on the same field, so people can keep that bullshit excuse. The Jets won that game because they were more physical than the Patsies. And if the Jets can do that again, then they will walk out of NE with their sights set on Indy.
PUNCH THEM IN THE MOUTH!! Right from the start! I want to see Brady eating field turf early and often! Every time a Pats receiver catches the ball over the middle he BETTER get leveled!! LET'S GO!
Yep. As long as we can keep pressure on Brady, make HIM make mistakes. I would love for nothing more than to see him on his ass more than he is on his feet.
we need to go up 10-0 with Nugent and Justin Miller scoring the 1st qtr. Then we bring the blitz and try to rattle the pretty boy. If we get some lucky bounces off tip balls , we can get that INT, make it 17-0. then the shootout begins and we win 41-31!
The Key is Mistake free football - Dont extend any of their drives with stupid penalties and protect the football- we do those 2 things and we have a real good shot at the W.
Considering the Patriots run the ball better, stop the run better and have more size on both trenches, 'hitting them in the mouth' does not seem to be an optimal strategy. The FAN doesn't know what they're talking about when they say the Patriots don't have a physical D.
With all due respect to those who are saying Brady needs to be pressured and this guy needs to have a good game and that guy needs to do this, etc, turnovers, blocking, and tackling are what decide games. It is simple football theory. The Jets don't necessarily have to pressure Brady to win. Justin Miller does not necessarily have to have a big game for the Jets to win. The Jets must not be on the minus side in the takeway/giveway department or they will have to make up for it with stellar play from all three phases of the game. It is highly unlikely they will be on the minus side and be able to win this game. This is a tall order. New England hasn't lost a home playoff game since 1978. The Jets cannot afford to be sloppy. If the turnover battle is even or the Jets are on the plus side, they will have to chance to win the game and that will be based on how well they block and tackle.
We have to win the battle upfront on both sides of the ball. The reason we lost game 1 against the Pats is they ccompletely dominated the LOS. In the second game, vice versa occured. Brick and Mangold had arguably the best games of their young careers...and Pennington was never touched. Win the battle of the trenches and we move on to SD
Seymour was switched to the other side of the line and had an injured (dislocated) elbow. Warren missed the game. There's a reason the Jets didn't have the problems on the LoS in game 2.
We cant let Brady stand in the pocket more then 5-7 seconds. If he does we're in trouble. I would also like to see a very balance offense.
And the other side of the ball? Ellis had an outstanding game, and nfl radio said D rob had the best single game of any DT this season.
I disagree. A conservative game plan is a sure defeat, IMO. The Jets need to be aggressive and physical in all aspects of the game.
The Jets need to be very aggressive on defense with a ton of run and pass blitzes. They need to have 8 men in the box for most of the game and challenge Brady to beat them down the field. On offense they need to open things up a bit. A first drive with no rushes would be a typical Patriots move and would probably get the Jets 7. One other big key is they need to get some points off of the return game. Between Miller and Washington there is the very real chance of running a kick back for 7 and the Jets need that.
The Patriots defensive weakness appears to be our offensive strength. They struggle w/ quick/short throws that get 5 yards at a time. If Chad can get into a rythym and hit his targets, we can mix things up w/ acouple completed passes downfield, and we develop a timely running game, we can have success on offense and ultimately win the game.
Richie had an owie and Ty's mommie didn't wet him pway! And it was raining real hard! Bottom line is the Jets were more physical than the Patriots on that day and that's why they won.
I'm just afraid of momentum being spoiled by a fucking touchdown pass to Mike Vrabel. I can't explain to you how much, perhaps irrationally, I hate that play.
I never mentioned a Conservative gameplan, non aggressive or non physical , I said mistake free - Which means no 40 yard Pass Interference , No 15 yard late hit oob or on the QB penalties to extend Patriots drives , also we have to protect the football , giving the Pats a short field from TO would be disastrous. You can be aggressive without being stupid or careless with the football
