Here's the original tweet that started that thread. Having 2 QB's go in the top 10 would be great news for us! I would feel great about landing another difference-maker at 10 if 2 of Pickett/Willis/Corral/Ridder go in the top 10.
I wish there were some rumors that the Giants really like a QB so a market could develop for the 4th pick. I don't have a link, but have read before that the Lions like Malik Willis. Wonder if he could go as high as 2 Here's an interesting one, albeit one I find hard to believe. Travon Walker to the Jags 1st overall? https://www.profootballnetwork.com/...jacksonville-jaguars-targeting-travon-walker/
That would be typical of the crazy offseason the Jaguars have had, but it would also be INSANE just as their spending spree has been insane! I hope that rumor is true! Then I don't have to worry that hte Jets might take him, and it will ensure that one of Hutch and KT are there at #4.
Let that be true! I think they take Hutchison but taking walker would be great for us. I’ve been saying for a while the #4 pick is in play 100% for a team looking for a QB that is willing to part with a top 12 pick + 1st 2023 + 2nd/3rd 2022
I watched the Willis Pro Day, guy has the base of Dante Cullpepper and a strong arm, I’m sure GMs are thinking Josh Allen all over again. Maybe that’s why JD was willing to part with picks 35,38,69 because he was getting calls for the 4th pick from teams who are interested in moving up for Willis, if he’s available.
GM's shouldn't be thinking Josh Allen. 90% of the guys that come into the NFL on that profile are going to bust. Allen did something really unusual. He reworked his entire throwing motion after his first two seasons in the NFL. Took an off-season and made the 10K throws with expert assistance. I don't think I've ever heard of anybody else doing that. People talk about it all the time as something that young QB's should do if they have mechanical problems but he's the first guy I've heard about who actually did it.
Rodgers had 3 years running the scout team. He had the time to make the adjustment because there was no way he was getting on the field until he did that or Favre retired.
He still changed his motion, you said you never heard of anyone doing it, I gave you an example of someone who did. Serious question, What is your take on Willis?
I think your theory on why JD would've been willing to go against his usual m.o. and give up high picks for Hill has a lot of credibility. Good take!
Level of competition after the transfer was not that strong. Results were meh. He's probably just another guy. It's so easy to look at these guys and project them at the next level without really understanding why they did what they did in college. Without that understanding none of the projections are worth anything.
That’s a great point. Also he was posturing earlier in the draft process that the 4th pick is unavailable. Also, interesting you say Dante Culpepper. I have a feeling Minnie could be a sleeper team looking for a QB. They have a whole new staff and could fall in love with a QB and ship cousins to a number of teams.
Really thinking the draft starts with Hutch at 1 and Walker at 2. Who knows what the Texans will do though? Probably Hamilton?
Steelers, Panthers, WFT, Lions, Falcons for sure might trade up for a QB. I can see WFT as a strong trade chip and the Panthers if they want to jump the Giants What would it take for Carolina to move up 2 spots.
Way too cheap! I'd say their 2nd and 3rd this year, and either a 2nd or a 3rd next year depending on their draft position.
