There is still a possibility for a trade, Willis Pro Day went really well and rumors are buzzing that teams might want to move up for him, JD might still be able to get a nice haul for 4th pick and get more playmakers for Jets. Draft might not be at all what mocks have predicted with Hutchinson or KT going first, could be some movement.
I'll file this in the "unlikely" category but I also never thought Tyreek Hill would be made available so like KG once said...
Even losing out on Hill's talent, I'm excited because Douglass has accumulated the pick ammunition and cap space to sign a major upgrade without putting the team in a hole, he's now shown a willingness to go all out when the situation is right, and, with the cap and contract structures in the NFL, major pieces are always shaking lose. Exciting times for me as a fan!
well it turned out to be true. we went after hill. we also called to seattle about dk but they arne't moving him as of now and trying to extend him. looks like we are going after top WRs in a trade with 2 2nds
we have 4 and 10. it's very likely we can get edge at 4 and the top WR at 10 already. no need to trade up.
What if we go CB and DE instead and get one of the many good WR? That would be amazing 3 solid starters at key positions.
we can get to the early 20s with 35+69 and still keep 38. I really don't think CB is possible but I could see hamilton at 4 and edge at 10. if so we could trade up from 35 if we wanted but in that case i'd rather take a WR at 35 I don't see a huge difference in the talent pool depending on how it falls and travis jones at 38. 4 hamilton 10 johnson 35 watson 38 jones that gives us an edge and DT, and a playmaking S on Defense and an outside WR to add to the group
Why on earth would we trade both of our second round picks to get a top-rated WR when we can just take the one we want at either #4 or #10? I sincerely doubt that the 3 teams with the top 3 picks in the draft are going to take a WR.
Because we also need good defender like CB and DE not just WR. I personally see 4 WR clearly above the rest (I see them going between 7-15), 4 DE clearly above the rest (all of them should be top 10) and 1 CB above the rest. I also feel that WR will be going like hot cakes in the late first with now the packers, chiefs looking for playmakers. No way Watson or Pickens drop that far.
we don't need a CB. i'm not sure why everyone seems to say that. we signed reed and have hall and echols. carter and guidry in the slot. also carrying dunn as well and pinnock but he's likely moving to safety. a starting 4 of reed, hall, carter, and guidry is perfect for our system and echols for depth and has the potential to push hall for his spot.
I would be good taking DE at 4, Wilson at 10, and trade up to get another top tier receiver around 19 or 20. Even if we get Wilson at 10, WRs get injured, and we could use another top tier rookie WR on the roster.
We don't need a CB, especially in the top 10. WR is MUCH more important as is Edge. I agree that Watson and Pickens are probably both gone before #35. That's why we won't be taking a CB in the 1st round. We'll be taking an Edge and a WR. I would be stunned if the Jets do anything else. I would think it a horrible mistake and start having doubts about JD if he did anything else. Atlanta has nothing at WR and they pick #8. I could see us taking a WR at #4, but if not, definitely at #10, or after trading down a little. That's why I wouldn't hesitate to take Watson in the 1st round either at #10 or after trading down a little. IMO he is worth it, and will be worth it in the NFL.
I'd love to go CB and Edge with the first picks, and then pick up an offensive playmaker or lineman. Draft lines up well for this.
