    Rookie contracts are only 4 years. I’m not sure having a need in 3 years is a good resource of assets.

    “we might need a replacement at ___ in 3 years” can he said about every position. Literally every position.

    Wild idea, but maybe we can re-sign Fant and Tomlinson. Heck, LT just signed a contract, I’m sure he’s down for an extension already.

    While what you're saying is technically correct, but between contract length, age, injury risk and salary cap, 80-90% of the non-QB starters in the league can go in the category of needing to be replaced in 3 years.

    So you’re trading Becton or Fant? Or having a ridiculously overqualified backup?

    If we had gotten Hill, I would be on board with a ridiculously overqualified backfield.
