I agree to an extent. I don't think JD normally would have even considered it, but he's trying to get a great WR for Zach to help speed his development.
Once again, he refused to sign an extension with the Jets. But I guess you would have traded all those draft picks for one year of service. Because genius.
Very well said. You have to wonder if anyone at Florham Park is truly considering why Tyreek Hill chose the shitty dolphins over the Jets
Well thats funny because the very next sentence begins with "despite not having a no-trade clause". did you stop reading early or something
He would have been a great acquisition, but we can also turn our #10 pick into a great acquisition and still leave a lot of cap room for some other great acquisition. Overall, the fact that JD has not been overspending on other FA acquisitions left us the cap space so that we could be in the conversation for a true game-changer like Hill. Another opportunity for a true superstar will come along, whether this year or next. We need to keep our powder dry.
That’s what we thought. It was Hill’s choice, KC gave him the option due to the contract renewal. Hill had that as leverage to go where he wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hill chose the Fins because he is a Florida guy and they gave him an enormous contract. Odds on Hill choosing the Jets given the two factors above were probably nil.
Miami isn’t exactly a championship caliber franchise. Fuck, their owner is being investigated for offering extra $$$ to his coach to lose. Hill picked Miami because of no state income tax and he lives + trains in south beach. In other cases though, the Jets have been a loser franchise since 2012. They literally have to build through the draft because they won’t get stars. Hopefully the Jets get Garrett Wilson at 10 and another veteran depth piece and ZW makes big strides.
I'm glad Hill didn't want to come here. By the time there's any chance of this team contending, Hill wouldn't be the same player anymore. Plus I think he's overrated anyway; it's a lot easier to look good when Reid is calling the plays, Mahomes is throwing the ball, and Kelce is taking attention off you. And it prevents Douglas from trying to get one over on ownership by winning a couple more games this season at the expense of the future in an attempt to save his job.
Problem is there is probably no Hill, Chase, or Jefferson in this draft…. But there is hope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don’t think Hill chose the Dolphins over the Jets because of any reason other than no income tax and that fact that he lives in Miami. But yeah, I agree with the notion that until the Jets turn it around, they’re going to continue to struggle to get stars here.
Hill on this team, we are instantly in playoff discussion. Wilson would blossom. There is still chance we can bring a game changer in (open every play) and other teams need to game plan for. We have lacked for year, a play maker! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's funny seeing people think that winning mattered and if we offered more picks. If winning mattered, why did he leave Patrick Mahomes. Just like devante Adams. He wanted to move to a place he lived with low income taxes and maximise his NFL earnings. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
No we're not. Even with Hill, the Bills, Patriots, Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Titans, Colts, Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders are better. Unless by some miracle, Zach becomes as good as the QBs those teams have, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.
Tyreek Hill doesnt strike me as much of a tax accountant. if the Jets weren't known throughout the league as a loser franchise he would be here, taxes or no taxes. Deep down we all know this
Well there are a few prospects in the draft, just not sure they are at that level. Several ran in 4.3s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok so it’s not written in the contract but what do you call it when the player is deciding what team he wants to get traded to?
