So the Jets offered 35, 38 and 69 for Hill and 103. That was accepted by the Chiefs, and was contingent on Hill agreeing to go to NY. This would have been a wonderful move by JD. Its a shame its such a better place to live than NY.
Sure. I was all in on Hill (just like JD) but had 0 interest in Amari Cooper (just like JD). I really wanted Hill. Btw this and GameStop, it’s been an exiting morning.
Man, for that, would have been amazing. Hill would have made impact. Oh well, I think KC is targeting Christian Watson/Dotson as replacement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This really never made sense for the Jets. I think the agent put the Jets out there to boost the contract offer for Dolphins at the last minute. This negotiation has been going for days.
Well the guy I responded to edited his post after I replied. He made no mention of Michael Thomas originally. He just said "go get your young QB a proven WR". Hence why I responded that we could have had one for a fifth round pick. also Thomas is better than Cooper and would cost much more.
The Jets dodged a bullet. The contract alone is absurd; giving away draft picks for the right to pay 30 million a year would require having one's head examined.
Jets were in it, but Hill and agent played the game. I am sure if Miami was whishy washy he would have happily picked the jets. He was out in KC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Schematically he was a great fit but he doesn’t seem like the type of person this staff wants. Not the kind of person you want to make the highest paid player on your team… and be a de facto leader for all of the young guys.
My comment was in relation to Cooper. I wasn't comparing the two; I think MT is much better than Cooper.
Most people in Hill's position would have done the same thing. More money, closer to home, better weather especially as it pertains to your job. Still feels Jetsian but I don't think it should be held against Douglas.
To be honest, I kind of doubt it. I could be wrong though. Maybe they were in on initial talks but he just doesn’t seem like a Douglas or Saleh type at all.
I too was excited to have Tyreek Hill, but that contract! We'll feel better on draft day with our two high second round picks, and the saved contract money. One more thing to add.... Phuck the Fins
Our offer was commensurate with Dolphins offer, so it was totally up to hill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree on the player failing their usual type but surely the picks 'supposedly' offered would not have been thought up in a 5 minute spell. If we weren't in on him surely JD would say as much. Then again it looks good that people might think that the Jets are back in business, giving the brand name a bit of coverage, so to speak. @Snatch Catch explained it perfectly in his post lol
