I mean he picked South Beach. Can you blame him? lol Good luck with Tua though. He doesn't have an arm like Wison. He'll be running back for a good number of under throws.
Maccagnan never made a trade like this, and he kept his contracts short term commitments for most part. I’m kinda glad JD didn’t bite here either. Great player, but the price is very steep and the character questionable.
Well, we are probably better off for not making the trade. Was a lot of value and a lot of cap space and WR is not the problem on the offense.
i believe he was top 5 but his drop rate that year still wasnt bad because: 1) KC throws the ball a ton 2) He is targeted a ton and that year appears to be an aberration in his career
I'm not sad about this at all. I'd way rather have our pick of receiver at 10 and keep the rest of our picks and the money.
He clearly chose Miami. Partially let down because of how good he is and how excellent of a litmus test he'd have been for Zach. Partially relieved because he seems like a garbage human and that's difficult for me to root for. Partially excited because Jets had plenty of ammo AND JD went all-in for a game changing player when the right opportunity presented itself.
We'll just have to agree to disagree. Tua is a better QB than Zach was at the beginning of last season, not now. You will see. Similarly, Armistead is a better OT than Becton because he's a veteran and a great player on the decline. Becton is still learning and adapting to the new scheme. Once he adjusts, he is going to be every bit as good as Armistead or better. In terms of the OL, it doesn't matter even if Miami is better at 3 of the 5 positions (which I don't buy), it's how the OL plays as a unit that's important, and with the addition of Tomlinson, and Becton coming back with something to prove, I think the Jets' OL will be better, perhaps a lot better. Miami's D was better this past season and is better at the moment. We'll see how much of a gap there is when Lawson, Joyner, Nasirildeen, and Sherwood are back playing and with the additions of Reed, Whitehead, Martin, and those JD will add in the draft. I think the Jets' offense is going to be a lot better than the Dolphins' offense, particularly if we add Hill.
there is no way in the world we would spend a 5th round draft pick on a player with his background history, but we're willing to give up two 1st rd picks for it??? this team never learns. how about we stop drafting boy scouts in the first place and take our chances on players in the 5th round, instead of trading premium picks for these players we certainly wouldn't have touched earlier. as for this trade, no way!! we don't need malcontents when we lose 12 games a year and don't compete in 10 plus a year. we need to start from scratch.
Watch us draft secondary players at 4 and 10 now as a reaction to this LOL. I see the mocks of us taking secondary players that high and I'm not a fan. How have Dee Milliner, Calvin Pryor and Jamal Adams worked out for us at those high spots?
One benefit is this happened fast and we didn't waste our entire work day waiting and hoping. Although, my work productivity is unlikely to recover.
If I were a player, that would be a minor thing to consider. I think some of you make too much of that.
Dammit!!!! I worked late last night, just got up and saw these rumors on Facebook. I admit, I got really excited but in my heart figured he was just going to go to Miami. As I kept scrolling through here, I was getting more excited and then , BAM!!! I should have known. Considering the Jets "weren't going to be outbid", I guess he didn't want to come to us. What else is new?
