honest question, what are our holes on offense if we land Tyreek? maybe Tackle? But with Becton and Fant, I certainly would not classify that as a "hole."
it's funny becuase all the people saying it's too much. what if we said it as we trade jamaal adams and darnold for hill and a 1st? anyone would say we got the better end. trading 10 and 38 would be exactly that. but miami couldn't' even match that package really. their 1st this year, 2nd this year and a 1st and 2nd next year is about as close as they could get. we could also offload mims at this point
RB2, o-line depth, and zach progression. If you look at it like that, on paper we would be a pretty legit offense
Hill would open up the Running game, make other players better, esp WRs. He is legit threat every play. Wilson would have open target every play! Finally jets would have a legit weapon that other teams would have to plan for! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tyreek is probably one of the top 3-5 WR's in the NFL. Obviously don't want to go overboard on the offer but since it's between us and the Dolphins, we don't have to. 10th and some change should get this done.
The package is 10 and 35 for Hill and a massive contract. They can still address edge at 4 and get a safety at 38. WR doesn’t get addressed until day 3. Hill’s presence completely changes this offense. It’s also not a matter of whether the Jets will pony up, they will, it’s a matter of where Hill wants to play.
Because no team is trading the pick package required if Hill won't sign an extension with them. So the Chiefs need to essentially trade him where he wants in order to get the best possible return.
Assuming Hill comes here with a chip on his shoulder and determined to prove that KC made a mistake in not keeping him he probably changes the Jets offense pretty dramatically. Moore has a ton of pressure removed. Davis winds up with a lot of open field. All the other receivers wind up with better looks when they are on the field. However the Jets still have the conundrum of how to fit a vertical passer into a distribution offense. Nothing they do at WR is going to change the fact that Zach Wilson just isn't very good at making choices on the field right now. Giving him a strong asset to throw too helps but it isn't going to mean a lot when the pocket is closing in because ZW is holding the ball for too long. It isn't going to mean a lot when fastballs to the back shoulder on crossing patterns is a real thing.
man...if we don't get this done and he goes to Miami, this is another dark day for our franchise. If we get this done, we have officially put the future of the team on the shoulders and headband of Zach Wilson.
As long as we don’t give up too much and he doesn’t go from hero to zero with us. I’m all for it, that’s a true #1 receiver right there.
if your holes on offense are RB2 and o line depth, then you don't have holes! lol Yes, agreed with Zach Wilson. obviously he's the x factor. if he progresses as expected we are golden. if he does not improve from year 1, then the Jets are toast regardless of the roster around him.
Imagine DL having to worry about Hill and Moore running Jet Sweeps and bubble screens. How are DL supposed to rush the QB and defend the edge against that speed?
https://arrowheadaddict.com/2021/11/16/kc-chiefs-among-unofficial-leaders-dropped-passes-2021/ This was the only thing I could find. Said he was credited with 5 drops in 2021. Can't find anything for 2020 though.
By the time we are ready to compete, Hill will be 30, slower and probably looking for a way out of Miami. I truly don't care if he ends up with Miami. Not like we're battling them for a division title anytime soon.
