Reactions from other female swimmers are mixed. Despite the clickbait headline... this article sums it up pretty well. Female swimmers beaten by transgender athlete stage podium protest at ‘unfair’ result https://news.yahoo.com/female-swimm...9.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw&tsrc=twtr
If I questioned and it occurred to me that Thomas may have thrown the race coming in tied for 5th place in the 200 m I 100% call bs now. It's a ruse. She was blowing everyone out of the water. She should change her name to Terry Malloy.
Iszac Henig, who is a transgender man, has been allowed to compete (was also at this meet). He had his breasts removed, still has lady parts, and hasn't started testosterone therapy yet, so permitted. He's still female biologically. However, there was a lot of gossip back in January that Thomas "let" him beat her at a match. "She's not even trying." EDIT: Pronouns.
You posted an article from psychiatry.org which is further to my point. Pediatricians don’t diagnose mental disorders or they shouldn’t at least. They don’t have their hands in things like bipolar and such. Kids shouldn’t be making life altering decisions like this at young ages. When they’re adults, they can add or chop off whatever they’d like. Parents tell their kids they can and can’t do things all the time. Or at least they used to.
There's a deeper, far more troubling agenda at work here. And it points right at the education system.
Do you really think the current culture allows them to voice their opposition without their becoming the target for being a phobe? Would they rather lose a race or have their life ruined?
I agree, but it’s good to see that some are speaking out. https://www.swimmingworldmagazine.c...l-in-500-free-writes-critical-letter-to-ncaa/ EDIT: sorry I don’t know how to make it not a hyperlink.
I don't belong to Twitter but for a second there I thought MAYBE you were kidding. You weren't. Some of the backlash about the suspension is golden. "The Ayotollah of Iran and Vladmir Putin are not suspended but this swimmer is." This is nothing short of pathetic. I've been saying it from the very beginning. All I'm seeing is a bunch of goddamn cowards on this. I don't mean the female swimmers who chose to remain anonymous when they wrote to the NCAA (gee, I wonder why, but to their credit, they still did so). So this swimmer was brave enough to put her name to it and here we are. Nothing she said in her letter or on Twitter remotely resembles hate speech. Fck this charade already.
You really can't help yourself can you? True situation. She wrote a letter to NCAA about this Fake statement, never said in letter Fake account. It was suspended for being a fake account You sir... Are fake news!
Show me where the tweet touched you... are you ok to go back to work or do you need some time off? Oh fucking please...
