It's not all about what the Jets, or us, want. Unless we wanted to overpay, he may just have wanted to go to a situation where he was the prime slot guy on a winning team.
How exactly is he an upgrade over Beasley as a “human”? Considering Crowder is a lock to miss 3-4 games a year due to injury, it was a smart move not overpaying him.
This is really pushing JD toward a WR in rd. 1. We should be thankful that MIA didn't get Ryan. That would have been typical Jets luck.
I can understand why fans think we should’ve kept him. We’ve had two thousand yard receivers since 2011 and they were both in that weird year with Fitzmagic. Our receiving corps has been dog shit for most of the past 20 years in general so it’s disheartening when we let go of anything unless they’re David Clowney or Clyde Gates.
Crowder was a good Jet on some bad teams. He could not stay on the field and now he is past his prime. I wish him well in Buffalo.
Still need to add a depth, veteran wide receiver that can be relied on. T.Y. Hilton, Valdes-Scantling, Sammy Watkins, Keelan Cole, and AJ Green are names I see that are still available.
Hilton, Cole, Watkins (always hurt) or Fuller would be nice. We need a guy to run the the 9, deep out and deep post. Good for Crowder, shitty he went to the Bills, but he's a good fit for them.
not really sure it can all be blamed on our WRs. lots had to do with o-line, QB, and OC leading to just bad offenses. robby left via FA and had over 1k yards right away with teddy B at QB. but he was probably the only WR we had with 1k yard potential that left so the WRs do get some blame too
What's annoying is he's only 28. He has a bunch of serviceable starter years remaining, we just aren't anywhere near where we should be. Thank you Adam Gase. I get not wanting to let him walk but if we are building around our 22 year old QB, then let's roll with the younger option in the slot who also is a gadget player. Maybe I'm naive but I think Berrios has the ability to turn into a Jamison Crowder type receiver in terms of production. I don't know if he'll ever be the route-runner Crowder is but he could very easily fill the void. All in all, I'm happy Crowder will be contributing somewhere where he can win. I don't care who wins if we aren't, haven't subscribed to that theory since I was a teenager watching Brady dry hump us up and down the field, so I don't care he signed with a "rival".
I am willing to give Moore another year or so, but one thing for sure is we cant count on him staying healthy as he displayed last year. He had multiple ailments that kept him out of numerous games. I have a bad feeling we are going to pick London. It is at the point we need 2 more good to really good receiver's. We lack depth, we lack high end, we lack people that can stay on the field.
