I'm in your camp, I think Ford would be a great day 3 selection.

mayfield and garrapolo are gonna get traded. I could see carolina making a run at one of them. or even ATL. somehting like mayfield to carolina and jimmy g to ATL. of course a QB is in play for ATL but I don't think carolina takes one

Oh ya big time. I think he could be there in the 5th round with how under the radar he’s flying with most draft analysts.

I see it differently. I think Carolina takes a QB so Rhule buys himself another year.

he won't get another year with a rookie. neither would the GM. unless the rookie goes off and they compete for the playoffs. I doubt he wants to bank on that. they have a solid roster too. really good defense. good skill positions (moore, robby, CMC) decent o-line. really just need a solid QB who won't kill them. Jimmy G can win some games there

With drafting a rookie he buys more time with “his guy” plus if he has success with the rookie and their good support group he buys himself even more time.

Carolina and Atlanta even if they sign Jimmy/Baker would still be in the market for a QB. Throw Seattle and Washington in that mix too.

except the owners have him on thin ice as well as the GM and won't give him the chance to start over with his guy. they also know that you shouldn't draft a QB then change the GM and coaching staff the next year. The owners have them on notice and QB isn't on the table because either A the vet succeeds and they don't need one or more likely B, he doesn't they get fired and new GM/HC get to pick their guy next year in a better QB class.

as of now I see these teams with QB needs

    high
    ATL
    SEA
    Pitt
    Wash
    NO

    Medium
    Lions
    texans

    Low
    NYG
    PHI

I think willis, pickett, corral, and howell land in the 1st with riddler in the early 2nd. I don't think the QB runs starts till 8 and now it seems ATL will take one so I could see seattle or wash jumping them which benefits the giants not us. 10 is a possible trade back spot for a QB as well though. probably with pitt.

Carolina is definitely at least medium and if they don’t have a vet they are high. Or at least high enough to make other teams try to make moves to jump them and that’s all it takes. Atlanta being in their division and obviously like a QB in the draft for Smith to get “his guy” is in play.

I’d take 8 overall and a first next year for 4th overall.

I personally think they have a high need, I just don't think ownership will allow them to take one when they know there is a good chance they will have a new HC, new GM, and new scheme and that HC will want to pick his guy at QB

They gave Rhule a 6 year deal. I think he will get his chance with his guy. Or at least have a threat of that for a team to jump them for the qb they covet.

I think it is a possibility. Hard to deny the value. If they do not take Linderbaum I would not be surprised to see them take a center on day 3 as they get ready to move on from McGovern in 2023.

If they draft Linderbaum can JD get a day 3 draft pick in exchange for McGovern?

It’s the threat I’m banking on if KT is gone at 4. But I’d be fine with Hamilton at 4 if we can’t trade back or KT/AH are off the board.

th texans are a real wild card. I fully expect neal or ekwonu at 1 (likely ekwonu) and hutch at 2. the texans could literally take anything. i think neal or ekwonu, willis, KT, sauce, and hamilton are all in play for them. maybe even walker.
