With the bulk of free agency completed it’s time I reveal what I believe the Jets will do in the draft. This is not what I would do but how I feel it could unfold for the Jets with JD steering the ship. Trades will happen but they are so hard to predict so I just went with the picks we have.

4 overall- Edge - Kayvon Thibodeaux- I just have a gut feeling KT will fall to us and JD runs to get the ticket in.

10 overall- WR - Treylon Burks- The Jets brass interviewed him at the combine and our offence is in need of a receiver that can make plays after the catch.

34 overall- CB - Kaiir Elam - Hoping he falls to this pick. He’s a perfect fit for our defensive system with his length and ball skills in zone coverage.

38 overall- LB - Christian Harris - Hoping he falls to this pick. Pair him with his fellow Bama brother and let them go to work.

69 overall - DT/DE - Cameron Thomas - Can play inside and out that will work well in Saleh’s rotation.

111 overall - S - Kerby Joseph - Hoping he falls to this pick. Adding quality to our secondary.

117 overall- RB - Jerome Ford - Underrated player that would be a perfect compliment to Carter.

146 overall - G/C/OT - Andrew Stueber - played up and down the line for the wolverines. Extremely versatile lineman.

163 overall - TE - Jake Ferguson - Can block and catch. Good position to learn and develop behind our 2 vet TEs.

That would be a great round one. My concern would be IDL, specifically playing the run

I do think 4 and 10 are very possible. 2nd round no way. I don't think we take a CB or LBer. jets said they are happy with the LBer group and don't see it as a need and we just signed DJ reed at CB. I also don't think elam falls that far either but still.
3rd round is possible I like cam thomas a lot. I think he can be a JFM type player which in the 3rd is perfect for him. I don't think stueber is the pick the jets like cole strange if we take a lineman late. ferguson is possible but don't think he falls that far. I think he goes in the top 150.

I think we are drafting a DT this year in the top 4 picks. winfrey at 35 looks very possible

Cameron Thomas is the DE/DL pick. He’s kinda like JFM can play inside and out.

They might say they like their LB group but let’s be real it’s super weak after CJ… I agree Elam is a stretch there but I think if he falls to that pick I don’t know how we pass on him.

mosley is weak TBH. I wasn't impressed with the LBers but JD and saleh said it was the d-line not the LBers so if that's how they think DT and edge are a priority. I could see KT and davis as the 2 picks as well and trading up from 35 back to the 1st to get a WR if someone they like falls. we also drafted sherwood who the CS is high on as the mike already and nasrildean is in the mix and they like qunicy a lot

It definitely is possible. DT will definitely be addressed. I think JD likes prospects like Cameron Thomas that can play DE/DT

I just think with all the injuries they had last year at LB they won’t take a chance if a stud like Harris falls to the 2nd round. I felt CJ was our best defensive player last year and at times looked like he was trying to do it all himself because he didn’t have much help.

    Great work as always.

If KT is there at #4, it's a no-brainer IMO.

    Love Harris at #38.

I don't love Burks as a prospect. I feel he's being a bit overrated. I wouldn't hate the pick, but he wouldn't be my choice at #10. I'd much rather have Garret Wilson.

I'm double dipping at WR if I'm JD. If Metchie falls to 69, I'm all over it. Or even a guy like Alec Pierce. It's hard to tell where the WR will get drafted, but I think #69 could be a good spot to find one.

I'd probably replace the CB pick in the second round with an OT.

Outside of that, I'd be very happy if the draft played out this way. I'm not going to pretend to know all the players, but I like the positions addressed.

I think he'll target a NT type. I think davis could be in play at 10. travis jones could be in play at 35 or 38 as well
Mosley and Q did a good job not getting injured. we have sherwood, nasrildean, and phillips as well. 5 seems to be enough. I could see us taking a LBer but not until the 4th with a guy like damone clark or troy anderson

I think Davis is very much in play at 10. Completely agree.

Mosley was solid and Q did some good things but was terrible in coverage. I think Christian Harris in the 2nd is in play if he falls that far.

    Thank you.

I agree KT is a no brainer pick. If he’s gone I think we take Hamilton or trade back with a team looking for a QB to jump Carolina.

WR prospects are just like ice cream. It all depends what flavour you like. I love Burks as a prospect. There was a lot to like on tape and he’s super clean off the field and with injuries.

The double dip I wouldn’t mind and can see us doing it if we don’t retain a vet like Crowder/Cole. Metchie in the 3rd would be awesome. He’s a perfect replacement to Crowder. I find them very close in comparison actually.

harris won't be a 1st. is kinda a reach to me in the 2nd at 35 or 58 IMO. if dean or lloyd fell that far it's different. it's also a deep LBer class when you look at talent levels

    1st) dean, lloyd
    2nd) harris, muma, smith
3rd) bonito (listed as edge but can also be a good SAM too), walker, asamoah
    4th) anderson, clark, beavers, channel

I think if we do take a LBer it'll be later. I could see RB and LBer as our 2 4ths. Based on JDs focus our top 5 picks will likely include, DT, EDGE, WR, O-line, maybe a safety too

I have Harris and Dean neck and neck. Lloyd I have as the top LB. I really like all 3. After them it’s much slimmer pickings. If one of those 3 finds their way to the 2nd round it will be hard for JD to pass. It’s all relative though because if a top flight corner like Elam is still there I could see them taking a look. It really depends who’s there.

I like lloyd a lot and dean quite a bit too, but looking at the jets MO doens't seem like it's worth even factoring in. JD hasn't drafted a LBer high and likely won't. even last year when it was a need he drafted a few in the 5th. I could see us doing that again o even a safety and convert him like they did last draft.. jets are also high on sherwood and quincy and they love mosley. We are going to build the trenches with a rare exception of a "unicorn" and WR.

    If I had to predict

scenario A KT is on the board at 4

    4 KT
    10 London
    35 DT
    38 wild card

    if KT isn't there

    4 hamilton
    10 johnson
    35 BPA WR
    38 DT

In your first guess London is a bust. He’s going to be injured all the time with how reckless he plays. At 10 if it’s a WR I would want Burks/Williams/Wilson. I could see KT and Davis as well. SF used so many high picks on their DL and I could see jets follow suit.

You second guess is definitely more likely if KT is off the board. I could definitely see that play out.

personally I don't want any WR at 10. If I had to choose one i'd take wilson. If it came down to burks/london which are the 2 rumored to the jets i'd prefer london. burks doesn't look good on film to me at all. I'm hopinh he's not a jet because he looks like mims 2.0 but slower

Mims and Burks are completely different players.

Mims when he was coming out was smooth with 4.4 straight line speed and mostly caught back shoulder/post/go routes. His hands were questionable, his route running capabilities were limited and his frame was very lean. I had his comparable was AJ Green for his ceiling.

Burks is used all over the field RB/Slot/Outside, has YAC capabilities, excellent hands and built solid. I honestly believe he will be one of the best WRs in the NFL (top 10) within 2-3 years. But hey I could be wrong.
