he's a rotational #2... doesnt getTHAT many touches. He's nothing to get all lathered up over one way or the other. A solid pro #2 RB. shrug.

Ty Mont has 3 receiving TD in 8 years. Damn you stupid.

You just dug up the wrong stat out of your A-NUS. Ty Montgomery CAREER 1180 yards rushing. 4.6 rushing average. SEVEN RUSHING TD's and THREE RECEIVING TD's 1104 yards receiving

If we have a 5 win season, then these were not good moves. There comes a point where Douglas has to be accountable for his results; otherwise, we might as well just call him Dear Leader and keep him forever.

All that means is that they were worse teams than their records indicate, just like us.

It's the same reason strength of schedule is important to consider when we want an objective view of how good our team was. I don't know how we're acting like more nuance gives you less of an accurate picture than JUST looking at wins and losses.

you are what your record says you are. i'd rather be the worst team in the playoffs then the best team not in it
SOS is important as well we are typically stuck with a tougher then average scheudle as well.

How do you know it’s not the CS? I have no problems firing JD, but you can’t want him fired and not the CS, it’s their job to get results on field.

He hired the coaching staff. If they're bad, it's as much his fault as if the players are bad. And if we have a 5 win season, then he and the coaching staff should be fired.

Fair enough, man I really don’t want this team to start over next year.

Neither do I, but I'd rather start over again than stay on a path that clearly isn't working.

Jets are winning more than 5 games. They will win 8, be in contention for a WC and JD will get extended!

Whoa! Hold on there Mr. Sunshine! From "Darksider Commander" to this in one offseason? Who are you, and what did you do with Cman?:p

I'm not far away from you for this upcoming season as far a expectations go, but 2027? Hell no! I'm expecting playoffs for sure in 2023, and I'm secretly hopeful they can sneak in this year.

Why should they be fired? Because the Bengals made a quantum leap? We're not the Bengals. We're still rebuilding and/or restocking. We have almost an entirely new roster AGAIN and they will need time to develop. This isn't the Romper Room Jets in '22 but instead, a mix of veterans that know the game, but more importantly don't know each other yet.

5 wins with an completely revamped roster should be the floor, but not the cemetery. If folks were willing to give Saleh time with the Kiddie Jets, why not give him the same consideration with this newer, OLDER, Jets roster??

My biggest beef was JD shopping at Dollar General for FA talent. With precious few of his signings actually playing and that translating into winning games, I stand by my dark outlook. Seems JD is growing into his job now as he doesn't seem to be bargain hunting as much as signing guys who can both contribute AND stay off the IRL. He knew that was going to cost more and so far, he's spending like a big market GM which IMO, is huge in the short term. He's bringing in guys that have already won in their careers to teach the kids how to play winning football. Beats the Mercs he's signed so far. I think his next offseason might be his coronation into the Big Market GM club. He should have a successful track record of his DP's and FA's to lean on going forward. I think '23 should be the Jets coming out year as well.

2027 doesn't really bother me as I've been a fan since 1960 at the Polo Grounds. That particular year was PJ's... Not mine..

Douglas has had this job since 2019, and in the two seasons that he was responsible for, the Jets went 2-14 and 4-13. If we go 5-12 this season, he's in the worst tier of Jets failures. And if the coaching staff, who had two years themselves, have to be fired too (which they do so we don't force them on the new GM), then so be it.

Well, the Browns just inked Deshawn Watson so we can take that win off the board..

I suppose you are assuming he will be playing this year.

Yes, but the way his contract is structured, his first year salary is only 1M. If money talks, that says something about whether they expect him to play.

I noticed that as well meaning that if he serves a suspension this year he loses very little in salary which makes the value of the contract even greater for Watson. It is almost like the Browns sent him a signed blank contact and said you fill in the numbers Deshaun.
