JD has certainly started this free agency strong. Let's see what else he has in store. I'd REALLY like to see us sign a LB or two, some DL and I would LOVE to see us sign Arob although I am not holding my breath on that one.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/sfo/2021.htm team rankings and stats, right at the top. You could also just try doing your own research but I guess listening to friends who don’t know what they’re talking about is a lot easier.
I wish I saw this before I responded to your last post. Would have let me know that you are 100% trolling.
If they take Ikwanu 4th overall, and it’s what a lot of people are projecting, then there are simply no excuses left. They better have the best offensive line in the league and Zach Wilson better perform. they would have a $9 million center, $14 million guard, $11 million swing tackle, and 3 HIGH 1st round picks
I took you off ignore to see what was being said. You are, hands down, the worst shit poster i've ever seen on here....and we're all Jets fans so that's saying something. you're going back on ignore
I dunno PJ. A competitive 5 win season shows progress as we won't stink up the joint like last season. With every team making moves, we're still the weakest AFCE team and as such, no playoffs. However, if we do win say, 6 or 7 games, that's something the FO and CS will point to as progress. If we show we can actually compete for 16 games, that's also a plus. I think we can agree that the best optics on this are wins, but the second best would be competitive losses during the season coupled with NO BLOWOUTS. One thing is for certain, '22 cannot be a redux of '21 because if it is, there will be a full on fan revolt and no amount of happy thoughts and good wishes will help. We need to see WINS, not excuses for ugly losses. We can live with close losses but not be happy about losing. We cannot accept ugly, bad losses due to inexperience or plain old fashioned STUPIDITY. I would like to think JD and the CS knows what's riding on this season. If they don't, they shouldn't be in charge.
I think JD did a good job of addressing our biggest roster holes. I'd give him an 'A' for this FA period, which is a big improvement over the 'D' I gave him last year. Not sure how many wins it translates to. I guess we'll know more after the draft.
I agree with you, but isn't it kind of sad that as fans we would view "competitive losses" as an improvement?
So far Amari Cooper looks like the biggest missed opportunity. Gotta do what we can now so we don't reach to fill holes in the draft when better players can be had elsewhere.
if it makes you feel better....independent guys that study tape said cooper's top end wasn't there anymore and he had trouble getting separation. Particularly agsint #1 CB's. Sounds like it'd be an overpay for a guy who maybe isn't what he once might have been.
Once again, I firmly believe this is the off season that JD targeted to be the one that was able to get his vision on the go. Fat Mike did very well in building an appalling middle of the road team that will never go anywhere with key fundamental issues. JD took the 6 year deal as it was a horrid job to take on. (No picks, no talent, no money) This is the third off-season and we need results now. Unfortunately the first offseason with Gase brought us an empty cupboard and Pandora's box in Becton. However, Saleh and JD seem to be working together as a team should with little to no ego and trying to impress. If we have an off-season as good as last year this year, I'll be very happy and expectations will increase. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Wtf is a competitive 5 win season!? I hate this attitude. If they win 5 games, a hell of a lot went wrong.
That's the oldest excuse in the books. "I may not be doing well but look at the next guy." I care not how other teams are doing, I care about the Jets. Focus on fixing this team, then I'll dish out all the credit they want.
The Lions traded away Laken Tomlinson to the 49ers at the beginning of the year for a fifth-round pick. Our friends over at Niners Nation haven’t been too happy with how Tomlinson has played through eight games, saying he’s “not the answer at left guard. Or right guard. Or anywhere else.” Aw thanks. So we still on for happy hour tomorrow?
