In agreement here. We have a few low round picks and hope were looking for guys with these. Build for the future with this way and spend our high capital elsewhere. Becton/fant is next year's problem and we need to see this thing work first before we make our decision on this. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Perhaps you should take his advice. Your bolded quote says mobile and agile. Nowhere does it say he's as quick as him. If his support for Becton is coloring his judgement, your dislike is doing the same for you. Your next post that doesn't criticise him will be the first.
agile and quick is pretty much the same thing. i'm pro becton but I also know how those conversations with NC go as well and he does the same stuff to everyone
After watching kickers over the last few years miss everything and cost us games....I am at the point I would trade a 2nd to Cincy for their kicker
Would they trade Becton? If they are in love with Ikwanu as much as the mock nerds are saying, seems like thats the next step... watch them do that, Becton loses 50 lbs and becomes a monster
My thoughts, hopefully we are not drafting in the top 10 next year and for the next 10+ years. With that being said, Becton misses as many games as Blake Cashman, Fant is only signed for1-2 more years, and McDermott is the swing tackle (he sucks). Personally watching free agency play out, I dont envision KT being there at 4, I just dont see it. I dont want the "Greek Freak" at 4 or any other remaining pass rusher. I am hoping that IK or Sauce is there and they are the pick (IK being the #1 choice for me). I am torn on drafting IK, after signing a LG he wouldnt have a position at the beginning of the season. But without a doubt he will play due to Becton missing games, and would be Fant's replacement next year. I am looking at him as a future player (starting next year), he would be a savings account so to say. With Sauce, I feel like we can always utilize another great DB. I dont see them drafting a linebacker at 4 and want no part of Hamilton at 4. So what does that leave us?
Missed 2 games in 2020 and had a freak injury w/poor rehab but sure, let's equate Becton to one of the most snake-bitten players I've ever seen.
I watched every game he played, I know what he’s capable of doing, and I want him to come back and destroy the competition in camp and show everyone that he is the best LT the Jets have ever drafted. However this CS may not believe that he is going to come in and be that man, and I don’t know why. Or maybe they are just trying to get him motivated to take his game to the level they know he can play at. Whatever the case may be, It’s up to Becton to come in and shut everyone up by being the first year Becton we saw.
Because Macagnan was our GM and his philosophy of drafting OL in later rounds to develop to become starters failed. You watched the same games we watched and saw the same thing our oline has been atrocious for years.
I wholeheartedly agree. I hope they're just trying to motivate Becton, and there's not something there or which we are ignorant. I hope he comes back and blows Fant out of the water in the LT competition, and goes on to have an All-Pro year, career, and is elected to the HOF. He's one of my favorite Jets, and I'm really gonna hate it if he screws the pooch on this or if the CS has just written him off prematurely.
I keep seeing posts about players not wanting to play in NJ unless they were paid more due to taxes. One post claiming a player would need to make $17m a year vs the $14m he was getting in N.O. Yes there would be more taxes but not anywhere near $3m a year. At $17m they would be at $1m a game. Being only 8 games are played at home that means he would only be taxed by NJ on that $8m or a little over $800k. That didn't even take into account deductions that would bring that lower. So just keep that in mind when you start talking about the extra taxes, yes it's a bit higher but I doubt it plays that big a deal many are trying to make it out to.
