Bills signed Rodger Saffold, also a pro bowl guard to a 1 year deal. Will be interesting to compare his deal to Tomlinsons
O Line tend to play at a high level at older ages moreso than most positions. And yes with your logic we would still be in full rebuild mode and not closer to getting out of it with a player that may play at a high level for over three years Sorry I really don't understand the logic here
"The soon-to-be-34-year-old Saffold should immediately slot into Buffalo’s starting left guard position, right next to left tackle Dion Dawkins. Saffold experienced a solid season in 2021, but often suffered from persistent shoulder issues that caused him to exit several games and miss several series’ throughout the course of the season. Saffold’s play certainly slipped in pass protection, but he remained his quality self in the running game. It’ll be interesting to see how his skill set fits into Buffalo’s typically pass-heavy offensive attack." Man, we should have signed this 34 year old beast who can't pass block anymore.
what? Dude at some point you just gotta pack up and try again on the next one. If you’re not trolling by this point then I dunno what more everyone here can do for you.
Nagle didn't say he was a better signing--he just said its interesting to compare the deals. And it is interesting to compare the deals IMO.
Well I hope he got as much as Tomlinson because he's a Bill now and on a serious decline. But I'm sure he didn't get anything close because he's nowhere near as good anymore. Oh, and this guy got cut last week. He could have signed with anyone and didn't have to wait until today. That should tell you something about his worth on the market.
I don't know why I'm entertaining but no I'm not the author. Someone else compiled the stats that show how bad Saffold was this year.
Very good signing imo. He might be a little on the older side, but you have to do something to stop the bleeding. It was necessary. You will never build anything without adding (or retaining) good players, which in turn allows other players to grow into their roles.
