I wasn't as high on Uzomah as others here but that's a very solid signing. Now go draft our TE1

There’s the TE I wanted. Now add McBride or Ruckert.

people don't like Hughes but I think it's time to walk back some of the "he doesn't know what he's talking about"

With how much teams run Nickel now, having 3 starting caliber CB’s wouldn’t be a terrible decision. Plus, I would think a Gilmore pick up would be a 1 year, 2 year max, deal.

Add Gilmore and Sauce to play with Hall and then let Hall and Sauce take over the following year. Eerily similar to what the Niners did with Sherman.

I don't doubt that he has his sources, I doubt his general knowledge about the game of football.

    Uzomah and McBride/Ruckert/Dulcich.

I think any one of those would be a solid duo for some 12 personnel next season.

We needed this signing. It gives JD some more flexibility in the draft. It gives zach some more protection and another target. What's not to love?

Wouldn't have minded cutting Griffin, signing Howard and also drafting a TE to totally revamp the room.

Uzomah is a decent signing. But keep in mind he's turning 30 in January. We should still draft a TE in RD2

Nice, we're actually signing players to fill our biggest holes. If we can snag Marcus Williams this will be a slam dunk FA period.

Looks like Edge and CB/S will be premium during the draft. Still early

Yup! It's shaping up to a Thibodeaux and Gardner/Stingley type of draft

I'm curious about something. Since when do players get termed with ranks like 1 or 2? Eg - WR1 or TE1. Did this come from Madden? I've never played the game, so this is just a guess on my part.

Exactly. After the Uzomah signing, Howard seems like a total JD reclamation signing. I liked Howard a lot at Alabama, and then he tore his achilles a couple of years ago and couldn't find the field. Much higher upside than Griffin, and probably the same cost. We shall see!

i'm sure some use it different but for me I think it's on a curve. a WR1 would be top 32 in the league and a WR2 would be top 64. same for all positions. some seem to think a WR1 is a 90+ in madden it seems

All it means is your number 1 WR option in the pass game, highest number of targets/most production. People use the phrase “true WR1” but that’s really vague. Same for TE1.

CB1 is really your best cover guy… a little more vague but it just means your best guy.
