For the sake of this poll, let’s say the Jets get Cooper, ARob, and/or Chalk in FA so we have 0 needs for WR. And We know for a fact McBride will be available at 38 if we want him.

Here’s the scenario. The 1st 3 picks go Icky, Neal, and Hutch.

    - The Jets, after interviewing him don’t like Thibs’ personality but his game is a step above the rest

    - The Jets are determined to pick a “lockdown corner” and to them, only 2 have the skillet to fit that definition, Sauce and Stingley.

    - The Jets 2nd tier EDGE rushers made up of: Karlaftis, Walker, Ojabo, Johnson

    - The Jets see potential in their 3rd tier EDGE rushers

The other picks in the top 10 will be
    3 OL
    1 CB
    3 DE
    1 QB

    So your choices are:

Choice A: Thibs at #4, Singley at #10

Choice B: Sauce at #4 and your 2nd favorite 2nd tier EDGE rusher at #10

Choice C: Sauce at #4, Hamilton at #10 and a third tier EDGE at #35

I voted for Choice A, but only because I want no part of a defensive back anywhere near the Top 10 of this draft (let alone #4 overall). There are four consensus Top Tier players in the draft, you take one of them and move on. I already think Douglas is overrated, but if he went with Choice C, I'd be calling for him to be fired immediately.

After scenario A took a big lead, I edited the scenario to take less DE in the top 10 giving you your 2nd favorite tier 2 to see if it changes the results and makes it a harder choice.

B or C I want no part of Stingley tbh as I think Sauce will be a better pro and has no health problems atm

We need one of the big 3 DEs. Only A guarantees that.

Who’s the 3rd big DE: Karlaftis, Walker, Ojabo, or Johnson?

I always thought it was Karlafatis, but it seems like his stock has dropped while Walker's has sky rocketed. I still think Karlafatis is likely a very safe pick.

That being said, given the risers/fallers & current stock outlooks, I'm changing my point of view. There's enough high end DE depth that we can afford to wait until 10. I'd trade down from 4 or go with a DB like Hamilton or Sauce, and follow it up with a DE.

The WR depth sweet spot seems to be the late teens-early 20s. Trading up from round 2 for a WR would play to the draft board very well.

We are exactly 50/50 split with Thibs vs. Sauce

    D. None of the above. All three of those choices are horrific imo, and would be grounds for firing JD

I didn't vote because I can't envision a world in which JD is "determined to pick a lockdown corner." Hiring Reed means we don't need to do that in the draft. We may, but we certainly don't need to, and I can't envision JD being determined to do so. I think JD's FA signings have been designed to give him as much flexibility as possible in whom he chooses with any given pick.

This poll was created before we got Reed but I don’t think the addition of Reed stops us from getting Sauce

Agree, we could still get Sauce. But I think we now stand in dire need of Edge and WR, and since there are strong top 10 candidates in both position groups, I think it is unlikely we'll go for Sauce unless one of two things happen: (a) JD orchestrates a trade that gets us Sauce as well as a top Edge and a top WR; (b) JD/Saleh believe there is a 2nd-round WR or Edge prospect that is comparable to those in the top 10. In either scenario, we get the best of all three (CB/WR/Edge.) But if JD can't get the best of all three, I suspect Sauce is the one left out given our needs.

    I humbly suspect otherwise.

You named “positions” we need a WR, we need a DE etc… no one is saying “we need a CB” people are saying Sauce Gardner is special.

There are good DEs we can get at 10. There are good WRs we can get with 35 or a trade up. There’s only 1 Sauce Gardner

I'd be fine if we go Sauce at 4, DE/WR at 10, and then fill the missing hole at 35 or trade up. But I'm just guessing we'll go the other way.

Nothing would make me happier than KT leaving a good impression on the CS. If he lives up to our expectations, no one would make a bigger impact on this team.

I don’t think the CS has given up on Davis or Mims yet and there’s a huge difference btw trading for a top 5 NFL WR and drafting a top 5 prospect.

Im guessing if we get a WR it’ll be with a 2nd rd pick at the draft or sooner. But I also think the best RB would have a bigger impact than the 7th best WR

If we don’t take KT at 4 then we should trade back to 8 or 9. Pick up the best WR and JJ.
