I understand your point, but Ukraine was invaded, it's an act of war, and they're being bombed regardless.
If you start shooting or launching missiles from these hospitals, then yes... they become fair targets.
Also understood, but I'm getting a little lost about what your actual point is. The difference maker is that Ukraine didn't invade Russia. They're defending themselves no matter which way the misinformation or disinformation door swings. There's no disputing that.
My point is that there's a lot of disinformation coming from both sides. They painted the maternity ward shelling as it was a total atrocity and attack on pregnant women and babies. It was on the cover/front page of pretty much every freaking newspaper or news website. But in reality they most likely attacked a military target that used to house pregnant women and babies.

Clinton stood by while Chechnya was destroyed before Putin came onto the scene. GW Bush stood by while Georgia was invaded by his good friend "Vladdy". It would be totally against the grain of US-Russian relations if we actively intervened with military force in Ukraine. However it would be right in line with US history if we intervened if Russia crossed redlines into NATO territory.
