Of course the messaging is absurd if you get it from absurd sources like townhall.com via Twitter which, like those who reTweet it here, have no problem lying Here's what is really happening: "And there's other evidence oil companies just aren't looking to increase production right now. In a January 2022 call with investors, ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods said "The primary objectives we've had in looking at the portfolio is less about volume and volume targets and more about the quality and profitability of the barrels that we're producing." According to Reuters, Hollub also said on Tuesday, "Capital discipline today for oil companies is basically no (production) growth." Also, oil production has been steadily increasing since about mid-2020. According to numbers from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the U.S. peaked at 13.1 million barrels-per-day in production in February 2020. That plunged a low of 9.7 million barrels-per-day by August 2020 as COVID-19 sunk demand. But numbers have steadily trended up since then, with the EIA reporting 11.6 million barrels-per-day in February 2022, about 1.5 million under pre-pandemic levels and comparable to U.S. production in November 2018." For those interested in real facts, here is the whole piece from a Fox News outlet dated yesterday that shows the truth about drilling in the United States: FACT CHECK: Is the Biden administration standing in the way of U.S. oil production? | KOKH (okcfox.com)
I said "their messaging is absurd"... If this administration is doing such a bang up job they have failed to convince the American people. Have you seen the poll numbers? oofa...
Biden Administration Is ‘Misusing Facts’ on Oil Permits, API Says The head of the biggest U.S. oil lobby groups said the Biden administration is “misusing facts” when it claims the industry has more than 9,000 federal drilling permits on which it can drill to boost supply and ease soaring energy prices. Mike Sommers, the chief executive officer of the American Petroleum Institute, who was in Houston Monday for CERAWeek by S&P Global, said the industry is using a higher percentage of federal onshore and offshore leases than at any time in the past, and it’s continuing to increase production to meet surging demand. The Biden administration has repeatedly pointed to the number of approved but untapped drilling permits on federal land when questioned about how U.S. production can rise, and what the federal government can do to help. “There’s a fundamental misunderstanding of the administration as to how the process actually works,” Sommers said in an interview on the sidelines of the conference. “Just because you have a lease doesn’t mean there’s actually oil and gas in that lease, and there has to be a lot of development that occurs between the leasing and then ultimately permitting for that acreage to be productive,” he said. “I think that they’re purposefully misusing the facts here to advantage their position.” Sommers said the Biden administration should support policies that promote U.S. oil and gas production over OPEC+, which includes Russian oil. The U.S. and its allies are considering banning imports of Russia crude after the country invaded Ukraine.
You better be outfitted with a Tesla and solar panels and never use a plastic plate in your own house before you suggest others do the same.
is there any adult who doesn’t already understand this though? His point was that there are places without anything under the ground to drill from? No shit... His only suggested solution is to ban Russian imports which is what they did
My friend in NJ just told me that diesel was 5.89 by his house. It's 5.29 here. P.S. No way I'll ever move to NJ. I see South in my future, but definitely not NJ
And why did you post the blatantly misleading Tweets? No administration should ever govern based on poll numbers when they are so often fed by the likes of Townhall.com. And you
Misleading? I just posted video of what Biden and Psaki said. We all know the President has nothing to do with energy prices.
You posted Tweets that were intentionally misleading. So, were you trying to further the fictions or were you victimized by them?
You're an abject fraud. All your reTweeting and copying of nonsense, usually without a single comment so you can deny any culpability for what is promoted is pathetic. The fact is I don't get misled by your nonsense but I know I'm not your target. You target those who believe anything they read or see on a ten second clip.
In Russia, a gallon of gas is $1.41......... https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Russia/gasoline_prices/
I'm just smart enough to know that a ten second clip or a 280 character Tweet cannot tell a complete story. And I'm also smart enough to understand that Twitter limitations are exploited by scum who try to mislead those who are unaware.
Don't get me wrong, I don't suggest the same, it is very costly and no I do not have money for that. Personally, I avoid taking my car as often that I can. I do find it quite hypocritical to have many people living on farm lands claiming that government are evil and less is better (I agree with that concept). Then also claiming that government should do more to prevent rising gasoline price but they drive brand new $80k+ pick up trucks (some time many) while they could invest into becoming free from the governmemt grasp by getting solar panel or wind power combined with EV. That would make you more autonomous from the goverment and less dependant on Pariah states that make a ton from oil and support terrorism. Just my 2 cents. Oh yeah, also there are more option than Tesla too. I just hope this speed up the transition to EV and green energy.
