100% accurate. I know two auto shops that stopped selling gasoline over the last decade because the liabilities in the inspection and maintenance outweighed the pennies a gallon they made on gas. Insurance was also a big issue. Service station gets one rate and gas station a much higher one.
What about last year ( actually 2020 if I remember correctly) when crude cratered to $16/ barrel...... it took 2 weeks to drop 20 cents (the lowest it dropped here)
It's all my fault.... finally got my boat ready to fish offshore this spring / summer..... now it costs 2x to use (never thought I'd say I'm happy I have a SMALLER boat now....). Came in on Friday, and topped off the tank on the way home and it was .50 more than the day before btw, prices are the same here in St. Augustine
Gas prices peaked under Bush, fell during Obama's second term, were relatively consistent under Trump until they dropped because of the pandemic, and were bouncing back under Biden until now that they're soaring because of Russia. In other words, it isn't presidential policy doing any of this.
But if gas prices act on future, is it possible that they raise their prices due to fear of policies and actions?
U.S. fossil fuel monopolies the big winners in Ukraine war With his illegal invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin may have played right into the hands of major Western oil and gas companies who were hoping a war in Europe would open up new profit opportunities for them at the expense of Russia. https://www.peoplesworld.org/article/u-s-fossil-fuel-monopolies-the-big-winners-in-ukraine-war/
Why not go full liberty/freedom and corrupted government free? Solar panels and/or wind power + electric car? Not american enough?
Biden seems to think there may be some monkey business going on with gas prices. https://www.foxbusiness.com/energy/...eum-reserves-step-alleviate-rising-gas-prices The White House went on to speculate that gas distributors may be squeezing Americans for extra dollars beyond market price. Biden has announced an investigation into the volatile prices to ensure sales of oil and gas are above board. "There is mounting evidence that declines in oil prices are not translating into lower prices at the pump," the White House announced. "Last week, the President asked the Federal Trade Commission to examine what is going on in oil and gas markets and to consider 'whether illegal conduct is costing families at the pump.'"
I'm not against green energy... I'm against people thinking electricity comes from unicorn farts. Do you have any idea how toxic windmills, solar panels & batteries are? Pushing pollution somewhere else doesn't solve the problem. My carbon footprint is minimal. I recycle the shit I use, I use plastic as little as possible... I have no A/C and I turn off the lights when I leave the room. Can John Kerry and Leo DiCaprio say the same?
50k for an electric car, about 500-600 a month depending on credit score. Solar panels for my house run me 120 a month ,plus I still have to pay the utility connection fee. The people this is affecting the most don’t have the means to take on the car payment or the income to get approved for the panels or the car loans. And their monthly gas bill just doubled, their utility bill just went up 40-50%. But how dare they complain right?
Dept. of Transportation Head Pete Buttigieg rides a bicycle! https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bu...loading-bike-from-suv-before-white-house-trip
Yeah, I saw him mention price gouging on tv last night..... the whole thing is bullshit. Oil drops fast, we see pennies reduction in a few weeks. It goes up a few bucks, then next day there's a guy at the gas station cussin as he tries to change the price sign with one of those suction cup extension things.....
