For all you posters who think White is a better QB than Zach, put this in your pipe and smoke it.

Do you have anything for all those who are not convinced either way? I mean you're writing as if the Jets have never made a bad personnel choice. That is, if this is even a valid rumor.

I thought he was a restricted free agent.

Slightly surprising if true. I personally think he could be a decent back up that could stand in for a game or two and keep a good offense in the game.

This would mean the Jets have another back up QB out there in mind.

Imagine us putting a franchise tag on Mike White at this point in time!

Maybe he resigns or gets moved for a player/pick. He has great potential

Wouldn't tagging White get him around $25 million for the year?

I don’t think the Jets are run that bad that they would even consider putting a franchise tag on Mike White.

I would really reconsider my fandom of Jets if they did make a move of that type.

Goodbye Mike, I’m sure he will go somewhere else and fight for a backup job.

They arent going to franchise tag him, that tweeter is wrong and confused. He would be an RFA. If they give him the tender offer, its around $2.5 mill, around $3.9 mill if they want to require a 2nd-round pick compensation if anyone signs him.

    https://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-...ky-qb-decision-but-correct-call-is-mike-white

Its possible they dont extend the tender offer and try to get him back at less than $2.5mill. Its possible but its cheap, which means they will probably do it.

The tweeter is a joke, maybe they were just trying to be facetious about White, who knows, but it shows why less is more with all this information being thrown out during off season.

I’ll wait till FA signings and draft day, don’t really care for anything else during off season.

Just to put it into context, there was a similar tweet about Nathan Sheperd

Lol of course they're not going to franchise tag him. The question is whether or not they tender him as an RFA. I haven't seen the legitimate beat writers comment on White

If accurate, this has nothing to do with who's better. That won't be decided for another year at least. However, letting White go is a smart move IMO. The Jets are committed all in to Wilson for better or worse. Having another young QB who performed well in relief can only serve to divide the fandom and locker room. Better to have a vet like Flacco as backup.

I think that tweet is a joke. White doesn't have to be franchise tagged, as he is a RFA. It's funny though. I think the Jets likely will re-sign him. Shouldn't cost that much. I am fine with a 3-QB room again with Wilson, Flacco and White. We will see!
