Don’t think he ever had a physical running style anyways. He’s not the type of back that will put his head down and get tough yards. He’s a guy that will run for 1-3 yards a carry or lose you a yard, then break one for 40. Not interested in that.
I wouldn't take either. The whole premise of this offense is to NOT have a bellcow RB or spend a lot of money on RBs, but rather to have a rotation of RBs that are cheap. They just need to be the one-cut type and have some speed. They don't have to be elite. We can get that type of RB anywhere from the 3rd to 5th rounds. I think it would be extremely foolish to trade for an oft-injured, expensive RB. It would go completely against the grain of what this offense is supposed to be about, and works against the cap.
Literally this. How many times did we watch the Giants start in 2nd and log because Barkley was dancing behind the OL? Not a recipe for success.
No idea how these two things relate when you can still get tackled behind the LOS, at the LOS, or 2-3 yards ahead of the LOS.
I don't know. Usually RB have more wear and tear than all other position. So I was curious on how a player so young and beast physically could be injured that often.
He can be a physical beast but he runs scared like he’s trying to avoid contact. I’ve always felt that avoiding contact in football is how you get hurt, and I’m not talking about running out of bounds to avoid a hit.
I don't think so. He doesn't run the same way since the injury and he's 1 year away from the age RB's start to decline anyway. Plus he won't be cheap.
yeah and they said the same thing about Corey Dillon before he went to NE, scored 40 TDs in three years and got a nice fat SB ring
He’s on his 5th year option already and will be due over $7million. Because he was the 2nd overall pick, his rookie deal still puts him in the top 10 highest paid RB’s in the league.
Better question is how do you rush for 1300 yards, 11 TD's and a 5 yard per carry average if you are dancing around all the time?
expensive, oft injured, and looked like he lost a step already (unless he was playing more injured then he lead on) I wouldn't waste a pick higher then a 5th or 6th.
