You really have to weed through, to find good bands these days. There are some. The problem is, everything today is going to be an attempt at recreating something that’s already been done.

Music industry has kind of done this to itself with endless covers and manufactured bands searching for the easy quick win. Proper artists take time to develop.

My kids are all teenagers. Not a one of them really likes anything modern.

I don’t even try. I listened to a pretty diverse mix in my youth. Anywhere from 90s rap (Mobb Deep to Wu-Tang), to present day rap (Up until around 2012), and rock across every decade from the late 60s to around 2010.

I would never choose to listen to anything over all of that. I’m probably bias because it’s what I grew up with but very good music was still being made from 2000-2010.

I don't think there is anything Maynard could do that I wouldn't love. One of the best vocalists of all time.

"You speak like someone who never been smacked in the fucking mouth. That's ok we have the remedy.

You speak like someone who has never been knocked the fuck on out. But we have your remedy."

My journey to Blues Music. It all began with a shopping excursion with my wife to historic Pine Mountain, GA . As we were meandering from one store to the next, we walked into an artsy-fartsy shop on the main drag. I noticed the music immediately. I wasn't familiar with it but I really enjoyed it. I went up to the owner and asked which station was playing and she replied it was Pandora's Blues Brothers station.

The following day I created a Blues Bros. station and soon discovered the station was all over the place from Eric Clapton, Allman Bros, Aretha, Ray Charles, 50's and 60s do wop, and of course, some blues. The Blues Bros. station was fun and entertaining but I wanted to focus on Blues alone. So my friend Google enters the picture. I discovered there were sub-genres of Blues based on location and number of instruments used. Through several days of listening to the different styles, I finally settled on Chicago Blues as my favorite Below is a sample:

Music is so subjective to personal taste but this style appealed to me. Give it a try ... you never know!

I posted a video of my cousin a while back and I just wanted to give an update. He'll be opening for Blake Shelton in Orlando on March 12th. Hopefully, this is the start of a promising country music career. That's him on the bottom right.

That's freaking awesome! I wish he was opening for one of the two country concerts I'm going to this summer. I got tickets for Jason Aldean and for Tim McGraw. Maybe he will be the opener for the opener at one of them. I really like his stuff and he has a fantastic voice. You must be really proud of him. It's not easy to make it in the music business.
