    Daiwa 21 SALTIGA IC 300H-SJ Right 7.3

Newest addition to the arsenal. Pairing it with an Ocean's Legacy Origin P2 (100-400g) Long fall SPJ rod. Comes with a power handle already installed. Not full electric, but it does have a powered depth indicator screen. Holds 400m (435yds) of PE-2 (20lb test) braid.

Ready for the '22 season. 20% drop in bag limits for Black Seabass here if NJ follows the Feds. Looks like more fluke, Ling, Porgys and other offshore targets this year. I don't mind really as Sea Bass had gotten to be a bit routine.

I'd take sea bass at the top of that list though ;)

I have a AVET JX 6.3 w/power handle. Can give you a good price on it being we're pals.. That Saltiga isn't powered by conventional battery, but a 2032 or 2025 small coin sized battery that fits in the reel body. No cords.

Haha, damn dude... I thought I was bad. When are you opening a tackle shop? :D

KInda eyeing an accurate, seigler (or maybe a Saltiga), but the Torium 16 is definitely a backup option I've considered if I cant find a good deal on one of those others (just wanted something a little smaller (don't need all that line capacity)

I don't close enough to the ocean to have a SW Boat. Looks like I'm just gonna have to live with my FW 17ft fish n ski for now...

The best thing about fishing high end gear is that I can get pretty good coin when it comes time to thin the herd.. :)

Looks like a formidable reel. I would get the power arm attachment as well. 6:1 is fast enough... 30lbs of drag certainly is powerful enough to stop most fish except the goliaths. Price is kinda high for a US made reel but the construction looks solid. Might be worth a gamble. I probably would go with all silver too..Handle and body. What power level rod are you gonna pair this guy up with? L2 -> L4 might be a nice match up.

Yeah, thats my issue... LOTS of lever drags CLAIM 30lbs of drag (like my Fin-nor did) but often get smoked (sideplate pressure) at higher settings.... I actually consider that price good for made in USA (and not 90% of the crap from china), hence my interest. I still want to hold one in my hand before pulling the trigger.

Was thinking L2 if I upgrade the rod too (150-300G-ish) (doubt I'll fish over 250G here but... rarely will fish much over 200' but sometimes the current is ripping)

Been to Elmendorf AFB on my way home from RoK. The seafood was great. Not sure if I'll ever get back up that way though. Hooking up with a 400lb Halibut would be quite the adventure!!

A L2 sounds about right although being the cautious person I am, I would look at a L3. I have a Palmarius Leviathan 7'-3" L3 long fall rod and it handled Stellwagon Cod in 275ft. using 220g flat falls mackerel colored jigs. I was using a combo of Long Fall and Slow Pitch. Cod hit the jigs but the dogfish didn't. Just missed winning the pool to a huge Pollock. L3 usually run 150-500g depending on the maker. Just in case you go deep or have some outrageous current to deal with I would consider the L3 power level. Rod is not super expensive either. Look them up..

I am at Elmo right now. Just ran to the BX actually. Here is the thing, when you have someone ie..me that lives here and has access to a boat the costs are peanuts...I am doing salmon shark fishing this year also.
