You can only choose one. Assume both players are in their prime...

Has to be Mawae. Powerful, agile. Is there another center ever that could pull like he did. When he got out in front of Martin on a toss sweep it was guaranteed 4 yards minimum, even when the whole world knew it was coming.

Mangold is one of my all time favorite Jets but Mawae was special. He was one of the first OL I saw make athletic plays back when I thought OL were just supposed to be brick walls. Mangold is my guy, but it’s mawae.

Both excellent players. I give the edge to Mawae as I'm forced to pick

Agreed. It also helped sweeping to the side that has Anthony Becht. The guy couldn't catch a cold, but he could block like a friggin' tank.

Ha, yep. Jim Sweeney wasn't terrible, either.

Sweeny and Fields were great centers, but these two are on a different level.

I forget the teams/players (someone on here will remember) of Kevin Mawae getting picked up and thrown to the ground like a rag doll! May have been that giant D-lineman we had here for a bit towards the end of his career. Too funny though, I felt bad for Mawae (he wasn't playing for us at the time).

I went with Saint Nick. He was our solid anchor to our d-line for years and years and years. Mawae had his moments, but Mangold was long term great, and that's solid gold.

Plus Mawae was the players union rep who whined a lot.

I would suggest that someone born around the time Fields was drafted is not in a position to draw such conclusions.

His completion percentage was below 50% or do you not know what "most" means?
