I’d imagine Marvin Lewis will be. He’s been banging this drum for a while despite being a head coach for 17 years and refusing to take a coordinator job.

I’d guess he was heading to Miami before the Flores suit.

Looks like the McVay tree will grow a bit as O'Connell is set to become the Vikings next HC. Compared to Belichick, this tree had more success with fewer branches.

Baalke's three coaching hires have been Jim Tonsula (5-11), Chip Kelley (2-14), and Urban Meyer (2-11) (by all accounts Jim Harbaugh picked Baalke when he was hired, not the other way around, and of course it was Baalke who drove Harbaugh after his 44-19-1 run at the Niners). Seems to me that Leftwich refusing to go to the Jags if Baalke stayed as GM was eminently sensible, and Khan refusing to get rid of Baalke typical Jaguarism. Good luck Doug Pederson!

The Saints have been granted permission to talk to Leftwich, so that might be where he ends up. They might not have a "generational quarterback," but they also don't have idiots like Baalke and Khan running the team.

Give Leftwich a lot of credit. How many times do you see a hot-candidate coordinator jump too quickly at a head-coaching opportunity and get himself into an untenable situation with a lousy owner and/or a bad GM? The poor guy is doomed from the start. It looks like Leftwich has the balls and the brains to stand his ground and walk away when Kahn refused to fire Baalke. In the long run, that will probably prove to be a good decision, but it takes balls to walk away. He'll probably get another HC opportunity, and maybe soon, but it's always tough to let go of the bird in the hand.

Harbaugh confirmed he's staying at Mich. Probably saw all the political chaos in the league and decided to stay put?

I’ve seen this guys press conferences, he’s a one pick minority at best.

Apparently, he's a super intelligent guy. We'll see if that translates to being a good HC.

Love his press conferences. I appreciate the weirdness and he always seems to be having fun with it.

Not very minority-y though I think the below fooled the NFL.

Not an inspiring hiring but at least he’s a couple games over .500 as a head coach in the NFL. The Flores investigation definitely derailed their hopes and dreams of hiring Reverend McCown.

the league needs more of that. It's just a game, the coaches don't need to be so serious.

having said that, he coaches the hated Fish now, so F him, I hope he gets stuffed in a locker like he undoubtedly did back in high school

giving coaches credit for great players... when LJ was the MVP it was... his situation was perfect ,Greg Roman blah blah blah... w/o LJ they are a MEH team, Roman or no....
