Say you want to double dip for Offense to help out Zach.

And say you want to double dip one area because things broke your way during FA.

Which option would help the Jets in the long term? Again, ideally it should be 1 OL and 1 WR I know. But say you want to double dip for the sake of Brook's stupidity. Go for it please

I can't choose either. IMO we can't afford 4 1st round picks on the OL and #4 is too early to take either WR, plus Burks and Wilson would be overkill. There wouldn't be enough balls to go around with Burke, Wilson, Moore, Davis, MC, another RB, and two good TEs whom we'll add between FA and the draft.

I'll give you my answer after free agency. Let's hope a couple of QBs get drafted in the top 9.

I'm not thrilled drafting (2022) an OT in the top ten, especially if we resign Moses.

Let's hope our fat, out of shape OT get's his act together. I was never on board of drafting a 360-370 LB Tackle.

If your going to double dip you have to do it on o line. We’ve seen it work first hand in 06. I’m not hoping for it but I would have no problems with doing that at 4 and 10 here.

There are whispers that the Oregon DE might fall out of the top 5, Mcshay tweeted the whispers. He supposedly takes plays off.

    Let the games begin!

He might take plays off, but dollars to doughnuts that it was a team picking between 5-10 that started that rumor.

Of course it was. Just like there was an article in the post I think that “rumors” at Senior Bowl week were that JD and the Jets were “extremely high” on Hamilton. They may like him but I don’t see JD taking him at #4.

I know the Jets need to bulk up that defense and they will at some point whether it’s FA or later in the draft but after thinking and looking at some of these players, and where the Jets stand roster wise I think they go hard on OL and playmakers - not saying they will double dip at OL in first round - in fact I say 99% chance they don’t.

At this moment I say OL and WR. But possibly EDGE and OL or WR. If it’s EDGE in first round then both second rounders probably go offense.

It’s going to be based on who falls at both 4 and 10

i personally feel it’s going down like this:

    1. Jags - Neal OT
    2. Lions - Hutchison Edge
    3. Wash - Pickett QB *Trade
    4. Jets - Thibodeaux Edge
    5. Giants - Stingley CB
    6. Panthers - Dean LB
    7. Giants - Wilson WR
    8. Atl - Hamilton S
    9. Den - Ekwonu G
    10. Jets - Burks WR
    11. Hou - Lloyd LB *Trade

The key is someone falling in love with Pickett for us so it pushes up an edge and a WR

If it falls like that I would say the Jets two second round picks should then be Zion Johnson and McBride…..

Honestly Brook, I think you need to provide other combos. Based on those 4 players only though, I'd prefer Ekwonu at #4 and Burks at #10.

What I prefer at this point - subject to change - is on one of (Edited) the two stud DEs slipping to #4 and we take him, and then grab Burks at #10. This also doesn't take into account any trade backs.

I might be persuaded to take Linderbaum at #10, and hope to find a stud WR or TE, whichever is the stronger prospect, with the next pick.

    Add Thibs/ Ojobo
    And
    Hamilton/Gardner
As options and let’s see what happens.

Ojabo scares the hell out of me, he has played one full year as a starter alongside one of the best DE in college football. Not sure if those numbers are one year wonder.

I do like his play, don’t get me wrong, is he worthy of top ten pick?

I wouldn’t pick him at 10 but keeping with the theme of the thread, he seemed like the best option who will probably still be in the board.

If both Edge rushers are gone at 3, the jets should take sauce Gardner. Guy is good!

Of course, nothing is a sure bet, but just look at the way Ojabo moves. His agility, quickness, speed, and burst are off the charts. His pass-rush moves and his football IQ are highly advanced, particularly for somebody with a limited football background. Ojabo's extraordinary physical abilities are not an illusion created by Hutchinson. This is a guy who ran a 10.93 100 meter dash in high school and ran a 4.5 40 at 250 pounds in college. He is well worthy or a top 10 pick to be in a rotation with JFM and Carl Lawson.

I’m not sold on Ojabo… Hutchison took all the double teams

Although Ojabo is a superior athlete with an incredibly high ceiling, he could certainly stand to put on a few pounds of muscle and improve his hand use for the Jets' 4-3. Right now, he's probably better suited for outside linebacker in a 3-4. However, if he achieves his mature physical potential, he will be an All-Pro edge player in either system.
