I will be live streaming this afternoon while watching the Senior Bowl. Come and talk NFL Draft with me!
Well? Anyone watch? I was out all day. Saw Jake Ferguson’s long-ish catch and run when I was out to dinner. Any standouts?
I watched the whole game. It was a bit of a disappointment, as I never saw or heard of quite a few of the bigger name players being on the field, and it was pretty one-sided for most of the game. The Amercan team came back late and made it closer and more exciting towards the end. Perrion Winfrey was the game MVP. Needless to say, he stood out. Other DL to stand out were Boye Mafe, DeAngelo Malone, and Travis Jones. I never heard some of the bigger names on the DL called out: Jermaine Johnsons, Arnold Ebiketie, Cam Thomas, Sam Williams, Devonte Wyatt, Phydarian Mathis, Kingsley Enagbare, and Logan Hall. Myjai Sanders did get in on one sack or his pressure contributed to it. The rest of the D must have played pretty well as the National team shut out the American team for much of the game. Tackling was pretty sloppy for the National team, but pass coverage for both teams was pretty good. At WR I never heard Shakir's name called. Christian Watson had a big catch early, and helped clear out some areas of the field so trailing receivers could make catches. Romeo Doubs had several catches. At TE McBride had a TD, but don't think I heard his name called besides that play. Likely made a good block or too as supposedly Kolar did. Ferguson was one of, if not the top receiver in the game in terms of yardage. Cole Turner had a few catches. I never heard Ruckert's name called. At RB Abram Smith made a case for himself both as a runner and receiver. He had one TD, almost a 2nd. Rachaad White looked very good. He was decisive, pretty fast, and ran with power. I never heard Tyler Badie's of Jerome Ford's name called. I don't know if they played, were injured or what. Connor Hayward at FB looked pretty good for the American team. Penning played pretty well at LT and then at RG, but got beaten badly on one play. The National Team OL looked typical Jets. They had 6-7 false start penalties in the game. Zakelj an OL from Rutgers had at least 2 of those, maybe more. Cole Strange looked ok, but was pretty easily moved back by his man on one play, and on a shotgun snap where he wasn't pressured, he almost snapped hte ball over the QB's head. The announcers singled out Matt Waletzo, an LT from N. Dakota St. for his mobility and movement skills. At QB, Malik Willis ran the ball several times quite effectively scrambling, but didn't do a lot passing as his receivers were covered and the National team was getting good pressure. Sam Howell helped himself. Pickett, Ridder and Strong all looked pretty good for the National team.
Ran the ball well and showed a very live arm. I wish he had more of a chance to sit in the pocket and make some throws but there really wasn't enough time to. Regardless, the tangibles are very strong and I could see a team talking themselves into the top 10-15 for him. Pickett had a solid day too
