I’m combining the trash Becton thread and the would you trade up thread.

Doubt it will happen but there’s some merit to this. Basically running back the same line that started to gel a bit at worst. I’d do it and try to trade down the Seattle pick, look to add the right tackle/ right guard of the future .

I don’t think it’s a bad move by them at all. Idk what scheme the new CS is going to use but if it’s a power blocking scheme then it’s a great move.

Edit: i reached out to the Jags Sub Reddit. I’ll let you and JD know if I get good feedback.

Edit: by the amount of downvotes I got, I’m guessing it wouldn’t be well received

If Becton wasn’t hurt I would say a better chance but him closing the year with injury makes in very unlikely. But let me know what you dig.

If that trade were to go through I would imagine JD takes another OT with the Seattle pick.

I’d prefer to keep the same line in tact to help with cohesion and pick up someone with our 2nd rd pick to help with the RT side.

Option 1: trade back and get Williams
Option 2: stay put and get Wilson.

We need more people on the team with the same name.

Gase drafted Tunsil his first year in Miami. I have no doubt he had input last year.

I'd do it. We'd get our choice of a pass rusher and Becton can be replaced by Neal, Cross, or Fant holding the fort for another year.

Who wouldn't you trade plus the #4 pick for the #1? My list is very short and it doesn't include Becton.

I don’t think Becton carries that much value even if the trade up isn’t for a quarterback, but I’d definitely do that.

If we traded like that, ended up with 1# pick...multiple trade downs for me. I dont want that number 1 to draft. We still would end up in a nice spot trading that 1

    It won't happen .

The draft value chart has the no.1 overall pick worth 3000 pts. The number 4 overall is worth 1800. Essentially the move up is worth 1200 pts, which is the equivalent of the no.12 overall pick.

Even if Becton wasn't 400 lbs and injured, the Jags wouldn't view Becton worth that much

This may be true if there is a generational talent for the 1st pick. I don't see that as being true this year. IMO -- there isn't much difference between the Jets picking 1st or 4th. We have too many needs and holes to fill. Beckton showed enough 1st year to warrant a longer leash.

Becton has little trade value but if that was offered I’d take it and run

This is such a weird thread. We could've probably gotten multiple first for Becton alone after the 2020 season. This is not going to happen, nor would it be a smart move.

We have two picks in the top 10. We should be able to get two blue chip players without trading anything.

Me too... my kids wrestle and we were pulling for Wirfs (an ex-state champ) to be the pick...

I know I’m biased but Wrestlers are a different breed when it comes to toughness.
