Weather's warming up today.... going to load up the yak and hopefully will find a redfish warming up on a sunny flat. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Weather was great.... fishing not so much. Water still dirty from all the rain we had earlier in week. One small "rat" red, and pulled the hook on a flounder. Didnt feel too bad when I got a buddy who is a pro charter guide texted me "FISHING SUCKED TODAY!"
One thing I've noticed with these "value" slow pitch jigs, the finishes do NOT hold up (not sure if its all of them or..) at least for us with fishies with teeth... I just gave most of those ocean cat jigs I recently got a few sprays of clear coat. Hopefully that helps the paint last more than 2 fishing trips vs hungry snapper. While waiting for the epoxy on my boat repair to dry
Yeah.. They're not the primo Sea Floor Control jigs. Even the JYG jigs last longer than the Ocean Cat's. Happy New Years Stinky! We're gonna see some pretty good fishing in the spring up here IF the warm winter continues. Planning on more sweetwater fishing this year with my boat too. Making those Jersey runs got a bit pricey last year.
Happy New years!!!! Had plans to blow off thegame as we have record high temps… but 15-20 wind blew me home in time to watch this game. The gods have spoken.
Well, got my big trips planned and paid for this year... Cod 4/2, Tilefish 8/14-17, Block Is. 11/6-7. I will get my boat looked at and do a lot more sweetwater fishing this year. Those Jersey drives started to get a bit grueling anyway and I was getting tired fishing for the same fish every year.
Well, looks like I smoked that Fin-Nor Primal..... Sent it in for service. I knew the side bearing was cooked, but apparently the pinion gear as well. Luckily still under warranty, but I was hoping for a replacement, not a repair when they told me that..... looks like I'm going to upgrade and use it as a backup / lighter tackle reel
Just sold my Accurate Boss 300 Stinky.. Sold my Shinano Ocea Jigger 2000NRHG too. Got some nice money for both. Thinking about letting my Shimano Twin Power 4000 (spin) and/or my AVET JX 6.3 reels (Conventional) go.
