with a back up LT, RT, and OC and missing WRs 1-3 and TE 2 and 3 against the leagues top defense? he was sacked 9 times not sure what you expect him to do there.
He’s going to defend his point until the end of time because he’s not grasping that it’s less a criticism of the performance and more a criticism of him calling it a good performance.
Let's not forget what @GasedAndConfused said in the opener... coaching staff - again in back to back weeks against playoff teams with nothing to play for and badly outmatched the jets came out hard and fighting and ready. I know it sucks to sitll lose but it's a big improvement from rolling over and taking it every game. we had every reason not to fight out there but saleh has this team fighting and it's a good sign of things to come once we get more talent How can any sensible observer of the game disagree with that?
How can you look at that game and think it’s a great job because the Jets didn’t mail it in? I always hated that. “The teams still playing hard after being eliminated.” These guys are mostly going to continue playing so the tape is out there for their next contract. The coach doesn’t get a ribbon because the perception is that they played “hard.” It wasn’t a good performance by any stretch.
The only time you talk "net yards" is when you are slamming Wilson. You are as transparent as glass. Does anyone discuss a QB's net passing yards?? Seriously.
Who exactly are you quoting? I agree with what @GasedAndConfused said in his original post. Whether it deserves a Stud rating or a ribbon seems like a silly debate.
If you are unable or unwilling to defend the grade you gave in a thread you started, perhaps it is you who is doing the trolling. Questioning the entire premise of the thread is definitely not. You are certainly free to move on.
I’m not debating with anyone. What I’m saying is that the coaching staff shouldn’t be propped up in a three score loss where the offense couldn’t move the ball whatsoever nor adjust to protect the quarterback in any way shape or form. I’ve never been a fan of coaches somehow getting kudos for the team not quitting on them. The Jets roster is filled with youthful players looking for a second payday. They better be playing hard. This also isn’t college football. Fair point, but I’m not sure 7/20 for 87 yards makes it look any better.
wrong thread? this isn't a graded thread. this is the discussion of the bills game. I said the coaching staff was studs. you didn't agree with it. others asked why. I explained why I said that. it's perfectly reasonable explanation. some agree, some don't. You don't have to agree with it but not sure what else you want to do here other then troll out of boredom?
WTFFFFF!! see in the sport of football the entire premise is for the team with the ball to move the football forward towards the goal, called the “end zone.” You can only get there by moving the football forward, and they measure that forward progress in yards. you have a problem with the designers of the game or something? It’s a simple fact that the Jets passing offense only gained 5 yards net in that game. —- I had you on ignore, I only un-ignored you to make sense of Vilma’s post. Boy was that a mistake. The quality of this website has gotten really bad
Come on. By any definition deciding who are studs and who are duds is grading. You took it upon yourself to open these threads and supply your opinion. Asking people to support their opinions is as big a part of this entire forum as is making posts to begin with. If you are not willing to defend your position with some detail why bother to post it at all? There are other threads for discussing what went on in the game.
I did support it but some people just aren't open to reason. I gave an explanation. like I said you don't have to agree. id' prefer you didn't based on your posting history anyway. lets me know i'm not going insane
Okay, since you don't want to be serious just answer one question - why do you post these studs and duds calls and also the year end grades? If it is to jumpstart discussions of different opinions here, that's great but you have to be open to supporting your views. If it is simply to show that you know everything so much better than anyone else and are not open to discussion we don't need that.
Its not silly. Debate is the point of a message board. If he posted that Saleh was a stud after an embarrassing beatdown like that and we all agreed, this place would suck
To paraphrase Bill Parcells, the object of the game is to score points and the QB's job is to get them in the end zone . Again, no one uses net yards when discussing the QB's passing stats. Funny you should mention the quality of posts. Over the past month you have had some ones that are just mind boggling.
Of course the point of the board is discussion... I was just saying the stud rating is obviously graded on a curve. And when the curve involves the NY Jets... it's a steep fucking curve.
Woody’s been grading the Jets on a steep curve of suck for a decade I’m sure. Complacency in a level well below mediocrity is how you end up with the longest NFL playoff drought by far.
Oh well, our patched up set of third stringers and rookie coaches, studs or duds, whatever your preference, looked better and more energized than the heralded Pats in the playoff game against the Bills……with everything on the line. Not so sure what any of these standards really do for you. Only one counts. Wins. The rest of the stats are only good to pad contracts. I’ll take Wilson at any percentage if we win games first and foremost.
