I’m not sure how they let him leave the facility after this play call with a job.

I doubt it, I think Flores is going to Chicago, he would be a good fit there

Woody should take notes for his post-season press conference next year.

He'll likely be saying the same things and Mara said them pretty well.

It's an interesting point that we're at.

Mike Tomlin is the same age Bill Cowher was at when the Steelers forced him out.

He's had about the same success as Cowher had and he's gone dry in the Super Bowl department.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Steelers kick Tomlin upstairs and hire Flores.

It's their MO over the years since Chuck Noll - a great coach - taught them that staying with a great coach when he has gone dry is not successful. Noll, BTW, was 47 the last time he coached a Super Bowl winner.

Also, Roethlisberger is retiring and they probably want the next coach on board with the next Steelers QB - a guy who is likely not on the roster yet but will be by 2023.

That’s the best available job, even if you don’t have a favorable opinion of Kirk.

I know Kirk catches a lot of flack, but this season wasn’t really his fault. The Mike Zimmer lead defense let teams back into games they shouldn’t have all year long.

Watch the Steelers if they lose in the playoffs. They're due and they would instantly be the best job on the market.

Not like he was going to last, but they should’ve known they were going to can him and given him a shorter deal. Seems like Watson’s guy Flores is the prime candidate to take over and woo him back to the franchise and settle with all those women.

And you have the Pats ties with Caserio down there too.. Wouldn't shock me if they throw a blank check at Flores just to keep Watson.

    On other Flores news:

If the Steelers part ways with Tomlin then Flores to the Steelers and Tomlin to the bears.

I read a blurb that Josh McDaniels cheated while HC of the Broncos. Hahaha. I'm sure some of it is skewed and off base but still funny as Hell. Once a Cheat always a Cheat.

Texans interview former Steelers WR Hines Ward for head coaching job

The Houston Texans' search for their next head coach has entered former player territory.

Hines Ward, a two-time Super Bowl champion for the Pittsburgh Steelers, interviewed for the Texans HC position on Saturday, the team announced.

Ward is currently working at Florida Atlantic University as a special assistant to the head coach. The 45-year-old's coaching experience started in the NFL, serving two years with the New York Jets (2019-2020) as an offensive assistant.

Ward played 14 seasons with the Steelers from 1998 to 2011 and is the franchise's all-time leader in receptions (1,000), receiving yards (12,083) and touchdowns (85). The four-time Pro Bowler was known not only for his sure hands and clutch play-making ability, but also his knack for making big blocks. Ward was named MVP of Super Bowl XL after securing five receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown.

The Texans also announced current Chargers offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi also interviewed for the head coach position as well.

Houston is searching for its seventh head coach as a franchise after firing David Culley this past week.
