I have skied in similar conditions, although I am sure nowhere as severe.

It's beautiful, but it's also eerie at the same time. Also hazardous.

In addition to the obvious loss of visibility, it also messes with your depth perception, because the light is very flat. Not cool when you're moving very quickly over uneven terrain.

Ski season is about to rebound. We’re headed for the freezer next week. Going to be some single digit lows on tap.

I would probably love it for a few hours as it came down, having not seen a good snow it 15 years. But after that I’d be done. I loved the cold growing up. Now, I can’t stand being cold.

It’s always funny to watch twc etc lose their shit over 5 inches of snow. I remember sitting in grade school with 8-10 already on the ground and the school waiting til 1130 to send us home to make sure they still got their dough for the day.

I think all red-blooded American males love snow until they have shoveled once too often.

<11 = "Wow! This stuff is great!!!"
12-15 = "Ok, we can have a snowball massacre as soon as we're done shoveling!!"
16+ = "I guess snow is fun but you don't have to shovel rain..."

I've skiied above the cloud line in western canada. On the way down through the fog you were literally trying to follow something bright in front of you, otherwise it was like walking around in the dark, except with skis on. Did that once. After that, stayed on the top all day and took the gondola down.

Wrong thread. Mods move this out of the weather thread if possible. Thought it was the inappropriate humor thread,

Looks like something big brewing. West of 95 . Still a lot of time but right now I feel good for you getting 6+. Nyc jersey shore is rain/ice . New York north of 84 (me) in that 6 range. Big numbers right now in the Appalachians. Still early though. Wouldn’t mind @jaywayne12 popping in with his $.02 soon.
Oh, this is a Sunday night Monday storm. Mlk day so schools don’t care. If you can , I’d start planning working from home

Hopefully not more than that. Maybe it will just push colder temps further south. Showing temps for us during that week low 20s at night

Yea. It’s looking like a soaker for anyone east of 95. You should be looking at 6-8 all snow.

Gonna be an an icy mess in the Carolina’s , for anyone west of 95. Just 1-2 inches of rain for us here on the coast. Just as well, we’re in drought , and if it’s not snow, I do t want the ice. We had 2 bad ice storms back in 13,14 that kept us in for 3 days.
