Season ended and Zach's first year is in the books. How would you grade Zach's first year as the Jets starting QB?
I'd say a solid B. He continued to improve the final month of the year, but his offense fell apart around him with injuries. It is unfortunate that we did not get to see his true ability down the stretch since he barely had anything to work with. I think it will make him a better QB for 2022 though. I'm excited for his future!
I went with C - if it wasn't for last week it would have been a D - I don't think you can give him an F as our skill positions are abysmal and our OL is below average (at its best) If there was a poll for Jets FO then it would be a Z
Glad he cleared his mistakes during the year and finished somewhat strong. Let's not forget we were missing some key folks down the stretch for him to be more efficient. But there is hope for future. Hope he spends offseason watching film and preparing for new season to kick some ass.
Incomplete. Just too many holes all over the place to be able to accurately evaluate him. In a vacuum? Solid C minus.
A whole new culture in this organization. Building through the draft is not an easy task. This is a young team with first-year coaches. Let's see how this plays out in 2022. ZW will grow into his role.
I gave him a C. I would have graded him higher if he shown improvement earlier on. But, he did make noticeable improvements late in the year. I think his play would have been even better behind a good line. I was really doubting him up until a few weeks ago, but I'm thinking he's finally headed in the right direction. We'll see where his ceiling is in the next year or so, but he did get better, so that's all we can ask for in this dismal year.
Given all the pieces that were missing around him he did well. I gave him a B-. He bounced back from a poor start, and played well down the stretch. Today's game should almost be tossed out given he was missing his top 4 receivers and the best RB. Truthfully I was hoping for more at the start of the season, but realistically he showed that he has a good shot at being their FQB. But Douglas HAS to get him help!
When did he play hero ball today??!!?!?!? Or last week? Or the week before? (I assume this isn't Bart Scott in disguise)
Gonna go with a C+. He started off really, really bad but improved a lot down the stretch. I’m excited to see how JD improves the weapons around him this offseason.
by trying to make something out of nothing.. ? By not throwing the GD ball away when the play was dead??? By losing yards scrambling backwards then taking the sack?? Cmon now.. When is Zach going to learn to throw the f'n ball away? This ain't BYU!! Just throw the GD ball away and move on to the next down!!!!! JFC!!!
Solid C. He improved from the beginning of the year, but he still needs to work on his accuracy and not trying to do too much. Wilson tried to do too much today. But it was going to be a rough game no matter what.
I just wanted to see something this year from him that was gonna make me feel confident going into a 2nd year with him. I didn’t!
D. But JD gave him only a bit more than he gave Darnold to work with so what could you really expect?
First half of the season - E - just piss poor and not ready all round. After Injury - B. - looks like a rookie that's getting to grips with the game and showing potential in more spots. Overall C. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Normally I'd agree. When the OL is an array of turnstiles and the WRs can't get open, not sure I agree that it's hero ball.
He had time on several occasions to just launch the ball to the sidelines and didn't. He had pressure all game, but rolling out, not seeing anything and still holding on to the ball? Was he seeing ghosts?
