it depends on the severity of the dislocation. It your leg is straight and you mildly dislocate it, and it's immediately relocated on the field then I suppose two weeks is possible. It sounds like that was the case with Mahomes? If your legs BENDS after you dislocate it? The damage can be a lot worse. I know that from personal experience and that's also what happened to Becton I believe? In Mahomes case though he must have at least ruptured the tendon from the bone? And many times people to not have that surgically repaired or maybe just wait until the off season to have it repaired. My point is regardless of any of these scenarios the swelling severity limits your range of motion. And the longer amount of time the patella is dislocated makes the swelling that much worse. In ANY scenario though Becton would have been walking probably the same day just with a brace that immobilizes the knee.
Maybe he should spend LESS TIME on social media if he can't handle heat. The entire self hyped BIG TICKET thing put a bullseye on his back. He did that, not the fans. He's been a lot of flash so far and fans are starting to call him on it. Like I said, show up on the field, EARN the nickname instead of giving yourself one, and the fans will respond with all the accolades this young man apparently craves. He can't help the team, his brand or himself on IR.
Further evidence he's a "talk about it" not "be about it" guy. Yet some of our fans seem to have utmost confidence that he'll turn things around and get in shape. Why? What evidence do we have to believe that'll happen? He hasn't taken his weight seriously until now, why's that going to change all of a sudden? Furthermore, fans who disagree with that notion, despite most of the evidence indicating they are right to do so, are labeled "toxic" fans or "haters".
Guy played pretty well his rookie season and then got taken out on a freak injury. Only this fanbase could turn on a #1 pick so quickly but I've always believed the Jets fanbase is as bad as Philly's. Just fucking ignorant. I guess you can blame it on the losing but the fanbase is pretty dumb.
When tickets are priced where they are, does it really matter what the fanbase's mentality is as long as they buy the product? Its still a what have you done lately thing. I think the CS should have just said it could be over for Becton this season instead of setting that timeframe. Raised expectations and when that didn't happen, coupled with the difficulties the OLine had early on, Becton became the target fair or not. Becton didn't and isn't helping himself with his Twitter tantrums. Dude needs to take the same advice he gave the fans and STFU, get healthy and play. He does that and all sins forgiven. He doesn't? Its more of the same shit he's getting now. And for God's sake, stay the fuck off of Social Media until he has something positive to share. If Zach's mom can do it, Becton can too.
No it isn't. At least not yet. We'll see what he looks like when he shows up for mini-camp and OTAs, and how he plays in TC and preseason. I agree with bicketybam that his post is a sign that he's extremely motivated to prove his doubters wrong and he's going to show up and maul people.
"Tantrum" is your perspective and your word, not mine. I don't see it as a "tantrum" or even being angry. Just a cold, hard, statement of facts that he's going to show up and make people eat their words. I wouldn't want to be on the opposite side of the LOS if I were a Jets defensive player come TC.
Maybe he should try "quietly" for $100. No need for broadcasting.. Just do it.. Or not. Its totally on Becton..
Ticket prices and the football acumen of the fans is irrelevant. This fan base is on the younger side and for the most part ignorant. Becton is not one of those guys that is a 24/7 social media presence. He's also one of our most promising players. But true to form, the Jets fanbase will label him a fat, lazy malcontent. It just what this ignorant fanbase does to compensate for the Jets lack of winning.
Sorry but I don't count Twitter posts as evidence of motivation, certainly not moreso than the actions a person takes. Up until now Mekhi has not taken his conditioning seriously enough. I'm not convinced he will simply because he says he will. His actions in the past indicate he won't. I'll believe it when I see it.
We have actual reports saying he's been overweight and lazy, it's not something the "haters" decided to believe out of thin air.
Can't change that image on IR. The only way he can change that is on the field. He needs to play more and tweet less. Everyone can use a break from Social Media now and then. Fan base may be young but, ticket prices are higher than ever and they pony up to see the Jets no matter the record. I can guarantee you the Jet Brass is grateful for those young fans that pay these elite prices for a team that can hardly be considered elite. They could care less about football acumen as long as the Mastercard/Visa card gets approved for purchases.
That's fair, and you could be right. He's young and still somewhat immature. I'm sure the Jets, his Dad, and perhaps other NFL or former NFL players have reached out to him or will speak with him as well. He will know that his career, at least with the Jets, is on the line, and his health.
Douglas just fully revamped the Jets medical department. Hired a new doctor and a bunch of therapist. Look like its the same old story with Jets injuries. More of Woody money wasted.
One thing we can probably all agree on is that the Jets are not cheap when it comes to this. Always believe we should evaluate all members of staff, but we have spent a fortune on our facility and staff compared to other teams too. Maybe it's the water. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
