i am in the FUCK THAT! club

Becton should move. Fant has been good. He's WON that position.

If Becton flops, picking up Fant almost makes up for it.

Possibly, but we all know that playing LT in college is very different than playing it in the NFL. I think they would be hesitant to do it because at that point he may be a Pro Bowl (if not All Pro) LG and they wouldn't really be solving anything, because they'd create a hole at LG. That said, it's easier to find a quality LG than it is an LT, so they might.

Hopefully, they never have to cross that bridge.

Passed up on or didn't get a chance to draft because they were picked before the Jets' pick?

If you're so smart, how come you aren't working for an NFL team, and why do you think it would have been a good move to draft an IOL who is the poster boy for being injury prone and who isn't a scheme fit at all? You really need to get a grip. You're not nearly as smart and knowledgeable as you think you are.

I never said the exact pick I listed would be there and mentioned several times that there were several profitable paths to take after trading out of #2. But fine, drop Smith and take Waddle, or Surtain, or Parsons, Slater. Drop Harris and take Javonte Williams, or Newsome, or Rousseau. Most of the first 40 picks last draft were major contributors and showed great future potential, outside of 80% of the QBs.

The point of mentioning LDT wasn't to suggest only going for guards in round 6. It was that you can usually find solid guards all over the draft. There is no point spending 3 high picks on one guard unless its a final piece of the puzzle to make a Superbowl run.

If you actually read his post you'll see that he marked the ones available with an asterisk.

    Neither are you.

I second this. Move Becton to RT and keep Fant at LT. Fant was atrocious at RT in the Carolina game before Becton went out with injury.

I want the Jets to re-sign Moses as well; he's done well at for us as a backup level RT. Having 3 tackles is essential.

like I said, this shitty carousel was going to go round and round. You bring up how you can find starters all over the draft, 1 million other people bring up how low are the percentages of that actually are, you say some thing and then revert back to claim or you can find starters everywhere.

The only real thing that is shitty about this is two years of huge draft capital and massive FA money and a 6 - 27 record, and depthless roster to show for it.

I’ve found fans to be the worst part of our team for a while now. Solely for times like this. When we are very clearly on the right track but people are so worried about OMG WE COULDA HAD A STARTER IN THE SIXTH instead.

Maybe if you actually understood what the fans were saying you'd have a better opinion of them?

Perhaps not, but I'm smart enough to see through your arrogant, know-it-all BS, I'm smart enough to not think I know more than JD, and I'm smart enough to know that the trade up for AVT was a great move and absolutely the right thing to do.

You know they have viewing holes in the fences around big construction projects and you can watch really big machines dig really big holes, I don't know why you want to watch this one small human dig a pointless hole over and over again.

Yes. I actually realized it’s way less probable than I thought that you can land a starter rounds 4-7.

I don’t think it’s the thread that did that. I think that comes from being a Jets fan for even just the past decade.

It is pointless to argue, what is done is done. Here is hoping JD does a good job in this upcoming draft and turns all that draft capital into good football players. We got a good football player in AVT if he can do that with our first-rounders this year I will be happy.

I also hope he brings in some really good FA this team is a little too young and needs some veteran leadership and proven play makers.
