Been a heck of a season. I think we can all agree on the following. Wilson is a keeper. We will have a chance to build around him. Wether he’s FQB, or we try and go the Dak Prescott route and build the best OL and run game around him, we will have options. He’s shown growth this year and that’s all we could really ask for.

What I have noticed about JDs draft classes is he will always go after our position of need over BPA.

It is unfortunate we lost out on the Hutchinson, Thibedoux sweepstakes but what can you do? Really happy we have the Seattle and Carolina picks where they are. Without further to do, here is what I am thinking. This does not include trade backs, but, I do think with Matt Corrals knee injury maybe a team can jump to take Kenney Pickett, maybe even at 4, as there is one…ONE blue chip QB prospect it seems. Could get a kings ransom or more picks this year but let’s pick..

1-4: George Karalafits. I’ve watched the film on him, he’s elite. He uses his hands well and looks and plays like a pro. Honestly, even though he is more of a SDE, he is a nice compliment to Lawson if they start him at WDE. Can easily rotate him with JFM too. DE is our biggest need. If not here, I’d expect them to consider David Ojabo with the Seattle pick. I don’t love the round 2 DE prospects.

1-7: Garrett Wilson. I think if Kyle Hamilton is around it’s a possibility as well as Stingley. But, I think all eyes will be on do the jets pull the trigger on Garrett Wilson and surround Zach? We know the O is designed on Play-action passes with intermediate crossing patterns. Would seem to be a perfect fit for the speedster. But, even though this may be a reach for Wilson as he is small in statue, alongside Elijah More, he does remind me of OBJ. He’s performed at the highest level for 3 years. No injury problems, good route runner, hands, and best trait of all is he high points the ball. He plays like he’s 6 foot 4. We will need to get a bigger WR but Corey Davis will get a chance to redeem himself next year and Mims will be cut. Maybe they go after a tall WR later in draft as a project too but Wilson is a stud.

2-4: Jordan Battle, SS Alabama. A position of need. I actually thought Brandon Joseph would turn pro so may need to reach a tad for him. Not a ton of safety prospects I love. I think we are all set at CB for another year. Echols, Hall, and Carter have shown enough for now and safety is a need. Hopefully Marcus Maye can come back healthy.

2-8: Breece Hall. RB ISU. Certainly a lot of options here. Back to the Dak Prescott comment, they need to surround Zach in this manner imo and use play action as a major weapon. The Shannahan O doesn’t require and has proven to plug a RB in from any point in the draft. Mike Carter is a stud but is small and really needs a bruiser to compliment him. He can’t be RB1 imo as he is small and it’s the nfl, you need two RBs due to season length and injury to the position. He is best suited with a guy like Isaiah Spiller or Breece Hall. This pick could be the best TE or IOL but with OL addressed so early in years past. I think they try and continue to establish the run and let Wilson make plays off play action. Watch the film on him if you haven’t. 225 lb RB with moves.

3- Trey McBride- TE CSU. Position of need. Slightly undersized and if he’s gone, which he shouldn’t be that early, IOL or BPA would be the pick. Not a ton of great TE options.

4-1: Cade Mays. OG UT. Think he’s a day 1 RG starter and backup RT option. One of my favorite players in the draft. Nasty OL but needs a bit of work.

    4-8: Alonte Taylor: CB UT.

    5:
    1-Isaac Pola Mao: SS USC.
    2-Zak McClain LB Auburn.

    Well done Woody!

Glad to see another Karlaftis stan on this board! I love the guy's motor and think he's more technical than most people realize and would be a great pick for us with our first pick!

I would prefer Williams, Olave, or Burks over Wilson but I agree with the points you made by taking a WR there.

Love the Battle, McBride, and Cade Mays picks! If you like Breece Hall, take a look at Hassan Haskins' tape. Similar builds and skillsets that would compliment MC very well IMO. I think Haskins and Hall could both be had in the late 3rd/early 4th range so I'm on board with getting one of them in the draft, just maybe not at the top of the 2nd.

Hall is a 2nd rounder imo. Best RB in the class. I’ve seen Haskins play and like his game. Basically was saying Zach played the best when we established the run. Carter went down again yesterday so really need a 1-2 punch. Could easily see them getting another RB round 3. Agreed.

WR is the million dollar question. It’s just a matter of what they are trying to do? I don’t love Burks. He reminds me of Kelvin Benjamin. Olave is fine, wouldn’t mind getting him or Dotson if it’s that first pick in round 2. I only think Wilson is the true game breaker at WR this year. And by game breaker I mean instant 1000 yard WR like Jamar Chase has been. The others are all good too, but how do they plan to compliment Moore and Davis and Berros? Maybe we do need size ie Burks. Also, Justyn Ross is round 3 from Clemson could be a steal.

I like Hall but I doubt we take a back that high. We should definitely add a 4th/5th round back to the mix, but there’s no need to spend a high pick like that.

The rest looks very solid. Good job!

I like Hall but I think the best RB in the class is a toss up between Kenneth Walker III and Isaiah Spiller with Spiller being my preferred guy as I think he's more versatile than Walker (who I think is the best "runner" in the class).

I do think a guy like Hall, Haskins, or Zach Charbonnet from UCLA would be the best fit for the Jets in the draft based off of what we already have in Michael Carter.

I think Jameson Williams or Olave would be the perfect compliment to Elijah and Corey Davis but there are so many options for WR's in this class that I could see them waiting until the 2nd again to address it.

    Gonna be another fun offseason!

A few more tidbits. If, and it appears nobody wants a round 2 RB, I would go after Zion Johnson. OL has played well this year but still think guard depth and RG starter can be updated. Wouldn’t be opposed to being back McGovern again at C. Pay Fant! And let’s hope Becton comes back strong.

My theory for taking Hall is we really give Zach an elite RB talent than say a day 3 or 4 solid starter talent. Think we can get that with walker, hall etc.

    Nice mock.

I think the Jets go after either Jameson Williams or Garrett Wilson with that Seattle pick. Joe Douglas and Saleh seem content running it back with Hall/Echols/MCII and I don't think they'd spend a high pick on a non-premium position ala Hamilton.

I don't know much about Treylon Burks but I've read he struggles to separate at times and people call him a "possession receiver". I don't think that label should be seen as a positive thing. You'd have to look at how many targets he has in which he actually has separation.

Agreed. He reminds me of Kelvin Benjamin. It worked in college but won’t work in the nfl. You need quick twitch and separation and YAC to be a round 1 WR imo and not sure Burks brings that.

100% agreed on the twitch and separation.

I’d love to look at the % of targets he has in which he has less than 1 yard of separation but that’s something I’ll look at once the season is over.

Also love the McBride pick, the dude catches everything. The Jets should double dip at TE and throw the back at Schultz.

Nice job overall - Zach would be a happy guy. As far as Wilson at #7 I would prefer they go defense again there - even hoping for a trade down (add an early rounder for next year) and take one of those LBs maybe Dean or Lloyd. LB core needs a lot of help. Karlaftis and then say Dean would jolt that front 7. The rest of the draft looks superb.

I'm not going to pretend I know most of these players, but I like most of the positions addressed. Although I'm Definitely not taking a RB in the second though. I'm thinking thats an OL or a LB.

I'm big on the WR in the first, but I was hoping to get one after a trade back.

I get the concern over twitch as it’s very important but I don’t really see how he struggles with separation. He’s also a great leader and has a massive frame with top end speed, so he’s the type of player that’s open when he’s covered. The catches against Ole Miss showcase this while they bracketed him with a safety over the top around the 3:30-4 min mark. He’s also a freight train in the open field because he’s so damn big (not only height wise but weight - big ass legs). He also bullied the fuck out of Bama’s NFL defensive backs too.

Highlight tapes are lame, but this doesn’t just have the big plays, it has the routine ones as well.

Will definitely need to work a bit on his route running but I think he’s going to be a great NFL receiver.

Respect your knowledge @WoodyHarrelson but the Benjamin comparison is way off base. He was a body catcher with drop issues in college and an undersized tightend with limited speed.

Also keep in mind guys, that he didn’t have CJ Stroud or Bryce Young hitting him in stride all year. I like KJ Jefferson and all but there was a lot of adjustments on inaccurate throws needed all year for this kid.

Ok end rant. I promise I don’t work for his media team.

I agree on AJ Brown. Wouldn’t hate the pick but don’t see the major upside and big play potential.

Don't see us taking a RB in round 2 where I expect him to go, but I selected him in a simulated mock.

I hear you. I just want them to truly surround Zach with talent and playmakers. No more Lamichael Pernies

If you guys like Breece Hall, check out Hassan Haskins from Michigan. Similar profile IMO but could be had in the 3rd/4th round.

I'll just echo Vilma's sentiments here. Burks is a dude that could blossom into a star at the NFL level. He's my WR3 behind Jameson Williams and Chris Olave and would be a great get in the mid-first round range IMO.

At 6'3" 225lbs he's an absolute freak athlete and it wouldn't shock me at all to see him run in the low-mid 4.4 range at the combine. He's a bit raw as a route runner but the agility and fluidity is there. I think it was the system he was in at Arkansas, but to Arkansas' defense, they did show off his versatility in how they used him. In the slot, as an H-Back, on the perimeter, bubble screens, quick screens, etc. They really did use him in a variety of ways and put him in some great positions to display one of his best attributes, his YAC ability.

If you want to see him go up against some elite talent and dominate (to the tune of 8 catches for 179 yards and 2 TD's), watch this tape from the Alabama game. If you want a quick look at his athleticism on full display, skip ahead to the 2:49 mark and grab your popcorn.

I love Haskins. He’s not going to be an explosive runner or the top back in the league. But he’ll do everything right and consistently fall forward, score on the goal line and convert short yardage plays.

AJ Brown seems like a good call and better than my Hopkins comp.
