I still don't know if Zach will pan out.. but he's has the most arm talent I've seen from a jet rookie QB that I can remember, seems to really like football and has the brain to improve, and had shown he's improved over the course of the season.

Next year is probably the most important jets off season and regular season that I can remember

LeFleur could do Zach a favor by limiting his 7 step drop backs...

I agree. If you just look at the stat line, his completion percentage was pretty bad. But if you watched the game, he seemed to be on fire, and nearly every incompletion was the kind that makes you mad at the receiver or glad that he got rid of it to avoid a sack. He looked much, much better than the stat line indicates.

One other angle is the completions. There were a lot of completions where it did not look like the receiver was open, but Zach was throwing lasers into tiny pockets.

Final thought: I just listened to Saleh's presser, and while he was diplomatic, it is clear that (a) he believes the Jets would have converted on that last play if it were run correctly and then taken 3 knees to win the game; and (b) he is furious at ML for not saying to Zach "hand off no matter what" when he told Zach the play. Saleh is mad. And rightly so.

I thought Wilson played another imperfect game, and continues to improve consistently. He did a lot of really good things, and I think he’s showing that he learns on a week to week basis.

The pitch was designed for Berrios? Thank God I didn’t put money on the 200:1 Berrios 3TD thing,

Yeah he looks comfortable back there. That’s what I’ve noticed. And he really hasn’t put the ball in harms way. Please get this man some WEAPONS. Btw, Yeboah up the seam! Listen he maybe something because I honestly haven’t seen a TE up the seam like that since Kroft in like week 2/3! The rest of this TE group is slow and plodding. Go get another TE, bring back Kroft, and Yeboah and go to work.

    Love this thread.

Zach was incredible today. Even his incompletions showed great decision making.

He has certainly gotten better since returning from his injury and is looking more and more confident each game. His best game as a pro I’d say and definitely gives me encouragement going forward.

The box score doesn't tell Wilson's story this game. He played very well all things considered. He fit a lot of balls into really tight windows and was the victim of some bad drops.

This is the type of game where he easily could've finished with 300+ yards and 2-3 TD's if he had his normal group of receivers and offensive lineman.

I can't blame anyone for not believing in Wilson - he played pretty poorly for most of this season. He's been improving without question though and if he can keep this improvement up he has a real shot to be a good QB for us within a couple years.

No, that wasn’t on Zach. No option should have been given to the rookie. A sweep to Barrios was the low risk call period.

I'm not 100% sold, but I feel better going into the offseason.

I'm more sold than I am of Fields or Lawrence.

Fair enough. I hope @FrontOfficeFanatic can acknowledge that Lawrence hasn't played like the generational prospect he was hyped up to be.
