To be fair a lot of teams have gone WR in the first round and not benefitted from it Giants with Toney Ravens with Bateman Raiders with Ruggs Broncos with Jeudy Eagles with Reagor Patriots with Harry like every position it is a flip of the coin as to whether it works or not (and the quality of the rest of the team also plays into the equation (sadly for us) - assuming Davis comes back and plays close to his salary then it feels like Tight End is a much bigger need for this team - though I agree Williams looks like the #1 prospect and would be hard to pass on edit: also always bugs me that people praise the Phins for drafting waddle but fail to take into account they spent another first round pick to move up to get him so he effectively cost them 2 first rounders - he is good but that is a lot to pay
I think the time to prove the bold has already passed, I don't think it's safe to assume that Davis will be any more than what is already on film.
For Corey Davis to be more than he has shown to be he is likely to need a very good to great QB throwing him the ball. What he got this season was a kid throwing rocks at him.
People keep talking about rookie QB like it's a status that comes with diapers. The reality is that if the guy is going to be an NFL QB he kinda looks like one in year one with very rare exceptions. Zach has been Mr Poopypants for most of the year and that just turns into a multi-year toilet training exercise. If we're lucky the Jets will have him at sinking the toilet paper at some point next year. Then we can get down to pull-ups maybe by 2023 and even big boy shorts by 2024.
Great take on the Phins, they coulda stayed put and gotten Smith. Think it’s too early to label Jeudy a bust. It takes most receivers a year to acclimate to the NFL JJ and Chase spoiled us.
fwiw... I often promote watching with MUTE on. jackaloon announcer says he thinks Georgia has the psychological edge over Bama b/c they lost and want revenge riiggggggggggggggggggggggggggggght we lost the SEC Champ by 3 scores and this gives them an "edge" am at work and went in the break room to grab a quick bite and didnt seek the remote out to puit it on mute ffs
It was one of the stupidest takes of the year by someone who's supposed to be neutral. Only a Georgia fan or someone who doesn't like Saban (there are plenty) would say something so dumb.
Right now, we're #4 and #7.........Buffalo needs the game vs. us......Arizona (at home) needs their game vs. Seattle. The SOS schedule for the Giants (#5) and teams behind Seattle may come into play. Not sure how much the SOS can move up/down based on Game 17 results. https://tankathon.com/nfl
BTW.....Hutchinson showed me NOTHING against Georgia. I'm not sure it matters if we pick 1st or 10th in this draft.
So we're getting a good draft pick and we've learned the big lesson to not call QB sneaks on 4th and multiple yards. Nothin but blue skies from now on.
Looks like our pick will land somewhere from 3-6 and the Seattle pick will land somewhere from 7-13. We really need Arizona to beat Seattle next week as that pick would be no worse than 8th if that happens.
It’s been a strange year but even so I don’t see AZ tanking vs Seattle …. the Jets won’t be picking any lower than #8.
Jets are currently 75% to pick 4th, Sea 75% to pick 7th. http://playoffstatus.com/nfl/nfldraftorder.html
So the best we can get is 3, but most likely 4? And the best Seattle can give us is 7, but as high as 13? Do I have that right? I wonder-even if we get 3 and 7, if they trade out of one of both of those slots. I know there’s no real QB’s available, although I heard someone saying 5 might still go in RD1, but I’m sure they’ll be something out there. I wouldn’t be opposed to it if they did it. Take that Center with one of those picks. Plus tou can further well the rebuild with more picks
