Let's offer a third rounder to the Seahawks for Jamal. Just to rub it in. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
So what you're saying is we should all be Lions fans this weekend? A Lions win over the Seahawks would not only give us a chance at crawling back into the top 2-3 but it would also essentially lock that Seahawks pick into the top 8-9.
The Lions have been feisty in most of their games and even pulled off a few upsets. It might happen!!
If JD were smart he will be bringing another OT into the fold most likely through the upcoming draft.
No chance Lions beat GB so the Jets won’t jump their pick but definitely Lions fan vs Seahawks big time.
Loved the win against the Jags but losing the game would've put us at #2 and a lock for Hutchinson or Thibodeux. Oh well, it is what it is. Let's go Lions!
Anything is possible in this crazy year. The Lions have been playing quite well considering … the Seahawks have looked like crap all year.
I disagree. that Becton doesn't/wouldn't fit the system. He has excellent movement skills. If he comes back to TC at 340, his movement skills will be even better.
Becton excelled in the past for 10 years by simply being better than his high school and college counterparts. Physically, there was no way they could beat him. Now, he's in a league where his size is NOT enough to beat people. He needs to be in top condition....learn moves.....and study tape.
No I've just been watching film. Hes not good vs run, no pass rush moves. Oregon DE are LIKE penn state RB. His illuminati moves puts him top 3 no doubt!
We've been rebuilding for over a decade now too. Don't give me fan impatience, a lot of us have been more than patient. The product has been shit for a long time now. Fans have every right to be impatient. We aren't the ones getting paid millions of dollars to put a product on the field we can all be proud of as fans. I'm done with patient. I'll find some patience when the guys getting paid all that money actually figure this shit out for us impatient fans. Until then, I will continue to be realistic about this dog shit franchise. Right now. I'm still not sure of the direction of this team overall. I question the GM for the overall product on the field right now. How many years does he need to make this team a contender? It's already been three years on the job. I question the HC. Its been a long ass time, if ever, that I've seen a Jets defense look as bad as this one was this year. I question the legitimacy of this HC when defense Is his specialty. I question If we will ever get this right with these clueless owners. Anyway. I need results at this point. Patience has run out.
Fan impatience didn't do anything. Woody's fear of what fan impatience would do to his slush fund kept them from rebuilding the right way.
JD has only had 2 off-seasons and I think he's doing a fine job overall. 2021 draft looks like a huge success. 2020 also isn't bad even without Mims. Success of that draft depends on Becton coming back strong. Also, is it possible for Mims to make a comeback or is he finished? Let's hope he has a big offseason. The Jets will add a LOT of new players from combined draft and free-agency before 2022 season so be patient.
IMO the earlier rebuilds can't be taken into consideration. They were run by incompetent boobs in Idzik and Mac, and the CS weren't much better. JD is not an incompetent boob. It sucks, but it is what it is, and to get impatient now and try to rush things or fire JD because things don't happen as quickly as we want would be extremely foolish imo. JD's first year doesn't count as he was hired after FA and the draft. There was little or nothing he could do that year. His second year, he was drafting for Gase's systems, so that's a wash. Still he drafted our #1 CB, our punter and a LT with HOF potential. Mims has proven to be a bust, but that could be because of our new CS, since last season Mims looked good and showed potential. He had an outstanding draft this year, one of the best in Jets' draft history. This team had Quinnen Williams, Jamal Adams, Marcus Maye, and CJ Mosely, and Foley Fatukasi when JD was hired. That's it in terms of talent. Adams didn't want to be here for a rebuild and forced his way off the team. Maye has had injury issues, not played all that well yet wanted big money, and now the DUI that he didn't tellt he team about, and may have burned his bridges here. That left 19 starters that had/have to be replaced, and at least 22 depth players (actually more like 30), plus K & P. JD has done an awesome job to add more draft picks, especially high ones. This roster wasn't getting developed into a winner in 2 offseasons. To expect it to was totally unrealistic on all of our parts. Questioning the HC is fair. I think Saleh has done a piss-poor job this season. I don't like his D scheme. It's too aggressive. Last year, with less talent, our run D was MUCH better than the cluster fuck it's been this year. There's no excuse for that. It's just his stupidity and stubbornness. Yes, our owners are stupid, but at least they have finally realized how clueless they are, and have stepped back and are allowing JD to run the team. I truly don't see how anyone can think the direction of this team is downwards. JD has added a lot of talent to this team, cleared the cap of most of the bad contracts that Mac handed out. He excels in trades, had a great draft this year, where even low round draft picks are contributing in a significant fashion, and he has found gems as UDFAs. IMO it's your perspective that is at fault. It's understandable with all the crap we've endured for decades with this team, but it's still blinding you to the positives. Do I wish things were progressing faster? Of course I do, but it is what it is. I can see the many positives, and think there is true reason for hope and excitement with this team. The only thing that gives me any pause at all is Saleh. It's totally understandable why he was hired. He had the personality, background/experience and was the consensus top candidate among the NFL. If he fails, JD shouldn't be judged too harshly.
