My scenario when we traded JA came true: Wilson got hurt, Seattle had a terrible year, and a pick that most thought would be in the 20's could be in the single-digits.

If JD nails the pick, it goes down as one of the greatest trades of all time, considering JA cost Seattle picks, $$$, and he has played a mediocre safety at best.

If that were true, we wouldn't be sitting In the shitter for over a decade at this point.

Just glad we didn't give up like the Jags did 2 years in a row.

Regarding the draft, we have 2 top 10 picks now and thats incredible. I know people will harp on about DE's but this is the draft that can change our full team.

My primary hope is that Detroit take a QB and there's another QB who has that off season rise to the top. Trade out for a later pick in the first and more next year.

Look how far the Sam trade set us back and how much the Adams trade has helped. Let's keep having premium picks for as long as possible.

Its hard to be a half-full guy when you are a NYJ fan, & the Seattle win vs SF week 13 was a real killer to give them 5 wins. Chicago beating NYG this week 17 would help them stay below Seattle in the draft order (pending win/loss schedules of other teams).

I'd do anything to keep the above placement when it comes to Seattle. Considering we took Jamal Adams w/the 6th overall pick in 2017 - would be amazing to get the 6th pick back this year. Coupled w/the 1st (#23) & 3rd (#86) rounders last year, -- along w/the contract $$ & the disgruntled locker room guy --- amazing trade!

But it'll all be for naught unless JD hits it out of the park.

It would be poetic to get the 6th overall pick back.

The order could shift a lot, probably the best you could realistically hope for is 3rd and 5th. Realistic worst case would probably be 4th and 12th.

Which Is Better....your choice: Get the 2nd overall pick and have Seattle's pick be in the mid-20's (they advance a round or two in the playoffs).....OR......Jets finish #4 or #5 with their pick and Seattle's is no worse than #9 (about where we are now) ?

You want our pick to be super-high and Seattle's bottom of the pack....or you want ours to be very high (Top 5) and Seattle's Top 10 or so ?

Forget the Draft Value Chart, just going by what you know about this year's draft class, which do you prefer ?

Still can’t believe we potentially will have two picks in the top six. Now I’m worried about overdrafting Olave…..

edit: as in I want Olave but people will freak out if we take him at 6

I don’t see the Jets taking a WR that high regardless. Seattle’s pick will be no lower than #10 but I can see the Jets going defense both times. Knowing JD If one of those picks is for the offense it’ll be an OL.

Just curious....if we won our last 2 games and Seattle won their last 2 games...and all the teams around both team's picking slot were to LOSE....how far down could our pick and Seattle's fall ? What's the theoretical LOWEST our pick and Seattle's could fall if everything goes wrong ?

Any way to figure that out ?

This is Seattle's first last-place finish in their division in 25 years. Boy, we lucked out. :D

A trade down wouldn’t be a bad option.

It was almost as if Adams pulled out that cigar at his press conference in honor of the Jets luck….

Looks like we theoretically could fall a bunch of slots lower, but unlikely since we'll be big underdogs the next 2 weeks.

Seattle will beat Detroit next week and then plays AZ with AZ needing the game, most likely. At 6-11, we need some of the 6 and 7 win teams to lose enough and hope SOS gives that pick a boost up.

Fan and team impatience never let them rebuild right. If they stick woth it this time they will have a contender soon.

I've made peace with the win.

I haven't thought about the draft too much yet but my early thinking is that Hamilton should be our pick along with a WR or OL with the second first rounder.

Our safeties have been an abomination since Maye went down and safety is a surprisingly important position in the modern game. Don't let our failures with Adams fool you, Hamilton is a totally different type of player. He's not an OLB disguised as a S like Adams is.
