Zach and Trevor both played a good game. One play defined the matchup: Trevor could have fought for extra yards on his late game drive. He could, and should, have tried to turn that run into a touchdown. Trevor didn't. He ran out of bounds and avoided the hit. THAT speaks to character. I prefer Zach to a QB who chose to not fight for extra yards with the game on the line. Zach has shown character and humility all year. He has some arm talent too. He's addressing the short term accuracy. Right now, I feel very good about not tanking last year. With that, I'm also just fine with not getting the #1 pick this year.
That's a two sided argument. Nothing wrong with getting out of bounds and avoiding a big hit if you're a QB instead of a big assed WR. Helps with career longevity.
Sure. I want my QB to win the game. Not focus on their health and do career planning. Point being - that was a game defining play. A competitor fights for those yards in a moment like that.
That's absolutely true in normal circumstances, but with time running out and the game on the line I think I want him to score. Be clutch. Win the game. Don't worry about next week, next season or next decade.
Herm was the WORST. My least favorite moment as a Jet fan was arguing this with Fireman Ed on Bourbon Street in 2001. After Ed vehemently defended Herm, I could never do the J-E-T-S chant again.
Lawrence might still turn out to be a pretty good QB but I’ve been impressed with Wilson’s growth over these last few weeks. Still has a lot to work on this offseason but considering the school he came from, the current roster, and the fact that he was thrown to the wolves opening day the kid has slowly improved. No INTs 3 straight games now… This is a huge offseason upcoming …
I will NEVER EVER EVER forgive Herm for the Pittsburgh playoff debacle where he did everything BUT play to win the game. Fuck Herm.
I wonder if Trevor got hurt on that play coming up short at the 2 yard line if you would still have that opinion. You realize last week Zach had an easy 25 yard run but decided to pull up 10 yards early, right?
Not sure of the reference. Frankly, I loved C-Mart. Also thought he was over-rated. The Denver game is an unhealed scar.
This literally was the the thing that urked me most about Wilson a game or two ago. The kid could've made a crucial 3rd down with a little grit and toughness. Instead, he slid early and looked lost. It's late In the year with nothing much to play for at the end of the day though. It is what it is. Pussy ball. Noice.
Wilson played a good rookie game, he managed it, and got the win. I loved watching his TD run, but hopefully we only see that once, or twice a season.
He would have easily scored with momentum and going against 5 foot 8 db! Bad football play with game in the balance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trevor had two egregious fumbles today , one he got lucky on, also a pick six that was dropped with game in balance. He had all day in he pocket, with noticeable lack of pass rush. He had time and made some nice throws. But When mot, he made some terrible potential game changing mistakes. For that reason I think Zach was better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
