You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. I don't know that to tell you. Wilson was asked to throw the ball 22 times and Lawrence was asked to throw the ball 39 times. Wilson threw a TD. TL didn't throw any. Lawrence turned the ball over. Wilson didn't. Lawrence was facing the leagues worst defense. Jax is ranked 12 spots higher. TL had all day to throw the ball to open receivers. Wilson was lucky is he saw an open receiver. He made 2 bad throws and had two huge throws dropped. Wilson had a better passer rating than Lawrence. Not sure what else to tell you. I'm sorry Wilson didn't throw 4 picks and have a completion percentage of 20%
Wilson could have all day to throw and would still miss a 5-yard slant. Lawrence is still the superior talent. We won with the ground game.
The ground game that involved 80+ yards and a TD from… Zach Wilson? I know I know, don’t feed the troll but it was just too easy.
Both Wilson and Lawrence have a lot of work to do to prove they are NFL QBs. This game between two of the worst NFL teams proves nothing.
Thanks Maddon. I wonder if Lawrence completed more passes, or got a touchdown, if his rating would have been higher. Thoughts? 2 season worth of Mims, you're still not sure whats going on?
I lost my internet with 2 minutes to go in the first half. That's what happens when you live in an area where you have to depend on radio-based internet that delivers "high speed" of 25Mbps. Anyway, from what I did see, this was the first I've seen Lawrence. I was surprised when he blew several easy passes because I thought Wilson was the only QB that did that. Aside from those throws, Lawrence showed that he has the physical tools to be great. Still, I'm glad we have Zach. Zach did exactly what he was supposed to do. He stayed within himself and made plays - that TD run was outstanding, and I hope this game gives him and the CS incentive for him to run more. It would've been easy for him to caught up in trying to beat Lawrence and trying to force things, but he didn't - he stayed focused on winning the game, which he did. He was hurt by at least two catchable balls that were dropped. It wasn't a spectacular game stat-wise, but he looked comfortable and in charge. For those who want to knock him for only throwing 22 times for 100 or so yards, how many of them were saying that Mac Jones was the better QB after he only attempted 3 passes in an entire game, but still won? Yes, I'm still waiting for that monster game from Wilson that finally shuts up his doubters, but in the meantime he's making progress and that's really what this first year was all about. Bottom line: Zach beat Trevor head to head.
Hooray for For the Zach Attack!!! Today Wilson showed he was the better QB on the field...now in 2 rears will that still be the case ? I sure hope so And that Braxton boy is Special ...so finally some Holiday cheer Can our GM keep this Train on track? Find us a Defense Joe
We’ll…I’m glad we won, and Zach did great with his legs…they definitely need to use that more. Still, can’t say he looked great…100 yards is very pedestrian, but I think it’s more driven by what was or wasn’t there for him…it’s not like he fucked up a lot of open passes. He did have two drops, but he also got lucky that he didn’t have two picks…they were close. still…he did win and he didn’t make any blatant errors that I saw…hard to expect much more with half our OL and receivers out. All in all…I’ll take it. And gotta give credit to McDermott…that was a pretty sweet catch for the TD…especially for a lineman
Happy about the win, we got lucky on a few things but so did the jags. Wilson kept some plays alive and used his feet. I would love to see more out of him but we may need to wait for a better oline. Defense needs help. Maybe we can win one more in the season.
